Did I say baseball season was over?

Can you say "travel ball?" LOL Sigh! Never ends, does it? First of all, Kevin made the All Star Team at the park. His team is done for the season, but there are a few teams that have some make up games, so the season isn't quite over ... then there will be All Stars for a week or two. In the meantime, he was invited to join 3 different travel ball teams ... we narrowed it down to 2, and he made a decision this week as to which one he wanted (which was my first choice, too.) So, he's now playing 'travel ball' which should take up a good deal of time this summer. I just hope that they have some tournaments in fun places. First one is this weekend (Sat/Sun) which is 2+ hours away (but near where my sis lives, so we'll get to visit her, too.) He's pretty excited about it. It's also amazing how well he was playing. This past season, he did 'OK' but definitely not up to par ... which is most likely because the team in general did really poorly. None of them really put forth much effort. But, knowing that it was an honor to be asked to be part of this team, he's really working hard ... and it shows. Just hoping that he has a good time.

He also earned his 1st degree blue belt rank today in karate.

All in all, it's been a busy week around our house!

Congrats to Kevin on his sports accomplishments! We still have a few regular season games to finish up. Rachel was invited to try out for travel softball, and we were glad she decided not to (because of the time committment). And now that she has a sports-related condition (see my separate post), it's probably a good thing. We're still waiting to hear about the All Star game.
