Hi Tonya! Unfortunately, my dd is on the side of the "hating school" group. When she was younger she seemed to really enjoy it - however, as she has gotten older, she only likes it for the social aspect of it. It is very frustrating as I was in the LOVE school group. Each child is different so it's really hard to say what you have to look forward too. Good luck!

Hugs,
Trac~ :)

It depends on the day.She definatly hates all of the work, and the rules.Howevr, she does not struggle with the work,so that is good. The rules aren't really bad,its just that last year her vp would threaten the 5th graders with supestion or Saturday detention if they were trying to find stuff in their locker,or any other trival little thing.she was also nervous ablout getting a check because she would accidentally leave a paper in her locker.she would get herself so worked up over this. She had on check the entire year and she came home in tears. She had the paper complete but the vp was rushing them and the paper fell out of her folder. All her teachers always said she was so very organized for a 5th grade, you would never know by her room, but some of her friends were always forgetting homework,or leaving stuff in lockers. They actually got 3 chances, for each class before they had to stay on a Sat,plus it started new each 9 weeks. This yeaR there will be a new VP so hopfully he won't go into the 6th grade wing yelling just to scare them. She does love the social aspects of school and for the most part all the worrying I did about her being a 5th grader in middle school was pointless. In our school the do keep 5th-6th graders in a seperate wing, and the also have to sit in the front of the bus.I do know that Gab is not looking forward to going back in 2 weeks, but once she gets int the routine she will be fine.I am also hoping the new vp is a little more resonale.

They both like school but they both like being out of school too. They certainly mourn when summer is over but they don't dread going to school either. School has been a happy and healthy place for them so they like being there.... just like breaks too.

Christopher likes school. His school is K-6 and he is entering 6th this year. I know he really wishes that we had a middle school for grades 6-8 like most of the districts but he'll have to wait another year to go to Junior High.

All three of our girls love school! They are in the 5th, 6th, and the oldest is a senior. They have never disliked school and I think that the activites really help them to keep a positive attitude about school. Our oldest is taking classes at the community college this year and she is super excited about that.

Our school is also small, only 2 classes of each grade in elementary. The high school and Middles school is in a seperate part of the building, but it's all under one roof. I really like that they are all in the place everyday. when we took care of my husband's nephews we had 5 kids in 4 different school and that could get hectic.

My husband has filed for custody of his daughter that wil be a freshman (almost 14) she does not like school and has a bad attitrude about it. I'm hoping if she is here full-time that the other 3 girls will influence her instead of her influencing them.

Hope you have a GREAT school year!!
