Thank you for participating in my poll!
I voted "unsure" because I do not know for sure WHAT is going to be done.
Hi,
I agree with you...I see way more braces at a younger age.....which is why, so far, I like my dentist and ortho(they both work in the same office) they want to wait till my son loses all his baby teeth and they also asked if he wanted them.....for cosmetic purpose.
I voted yes she currently has braces.
Alexis got them on in Dec of 06 at the age of 11. All of her baby teeth were gone so there was no sense in really waiting any longer. Our inusrance pays $1,500 lifetime and it was up to us to pay the rest. We have monthly payments.
We were just at the dentist yesterday and I asked about Caleb (9) and they said he still has 10 baby teeth and so far things look pretty good which made me very excited!
Thank you for the encouragement regarding the finances of braces.
Aly has the first phase of braces (not a full set--only front teeth, and some are baby teeth), but hopefully won't need a second phase.
She had one tooth that was farther back (came out when she still had the baby tooth) and it wouldn't move up on its own.
We didn't have insurance, but I was planning to get insurance before she got them (didn't know it was going to be within 3 weeks of the initial consultation...ack!!). However, with the option I have at work (Mike is self-employed), it wouldn't be worth it!
Our ortho offered a discount if we paid in full, or we could work out our own payment schedule. We went ahead & paid in full.
