Lenten or Passover customs? Are you giving anything up for Lent?
I try not to get wrapped up in all the Easter Bunny stuff and we have a recipe for Easter cookies where you read the passion story and make divinity. You turn the oven on to heat it up and then turn it off while the cookies bake overnight.
I wasn't really raised to give up anything during Lent but I do believe it's a time to take a good hard look at how you live your life and though this sounds goofy, I decided to give up yelling for Lent. It will force me to really examine what I'm doing before I do it and come up with more constructive, peaceful and Christian ways to interact with my family.
We also usually get invited to my friend Jennifer's parent's house for Passover seder. IT's a neat way to learn about another custom and show them where our religion came from. After all, the Last Supper was a Passover seder.

We are mormon - so we don't do Lent - however, for the last few years I've given up something along with friends who do observe it - mostly because I think it's a great opportunity.
We do recognize Lent and have some traditions surrounding it.
Last year my dd gave up meat on Wednesdays and Fridays during lent and decided to carry on with it throughout the year.
My dh is Greek Orthodox and I live in Greece.
I have not observed the Jewish holidays in my adult life but last year, friends invited us to Seder at their house.
