Does your tween(s) do overnight camp?

I know its a bit early to be thinking about summer camp, but last night DD was looking up riding camps on the net. There are about 3 not too far from us, about 3 hours (although she wasn't too thrilled with the one that said vegetarian cuisine LOL). She has NEVER wanted to go to an overnight camp and I think it would be good for her, my questions is what about price? These camps are anywhere from $500 - $750/week. I know that horses are expensive to maintain so I'm not sure that is why they are more expensive or not. I know someone who sent her DD to a general interest camp nearby and it was $1200 for two weeks.

I would love to be able to send her, but I don't know. That is my whole budget pretty much for summer daycamps. I would still need another $450 on top of that. Anyway, just curious what overnight camps cost out there in the wide world.

Thanks.

OK, here's a small world story.

My neice went to camp Tekoa this summer for the first time. They live in Asheville. She had a really good time. In fact, I was visiting my sister and we went together with my daughter to pick her up!

Yes...it is a small world! Especially since Camp Tekoa is not a huge camp...but then again, a lot of methodist kids in the mid & western part of NC go to that camp.
It's pretty out at the camp, isn't it?

Last summer my son went to a robotics camp through johns hopkins center for talented youth and it was 3 weeks at a college campus for $3,000. He loved it! He loved being with other kids like him, living in a dorm, the entire experience.

My dd went to a gymnastics camp for 2 weeks in PA that was $700/wk. It's an olympic training facility and really only for competetive gymnasts. She wants to go back again next year.

My son has to test again this year for admission, and if he qualifies we'll send him again.
