Guess what showed up in the bank account! Dh's paycheck from the 16th! Yeah! Tomorrow the mortgage will be deducted and bills will be paid and it will be just about empty again but at least financial obligations will be addressed. Hopefully, he'll get paid tomorrow like he's supposed to and that will put some money back in our savings and help us get through the first half of November and get started on holiday shopping.

At least I can sleep and breathe now! :)

Woohoo, party at Ami's house, there's money in the bank! Oops, too late, its gone. :-) I really hope tomorrow you get the next check and things are back to normal. That must have been so stressful.

I had my own private party today :) - breakfast and McD's and lunch at Chipotle's! That's it for awhile though. This was by far the most stressful thing I have ever been through! I did my best to keep an even keel but alas, was not all that successful - didn't sleep well, couldn't get myself to wear more than a sweatshirt and jeans, worried about every cent I spent (including how long I left lights on and how long the car was running and where I took the car). I've got my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

The take-away for me is we need to tighten our belts, cut back on some things, and build up an emergency fund so it's not such a big deal if it happens again or something else comes up. Fortunately, we didn't have to touch what we have set aside for retirement but it was getting close.

Thanks for the moral support throughout all of this. You guys were literally all I had - couldn't talk to dh, he just got upset, couldn't talk to my parents (they'd worry), couldn't talk to friends (too embarassing - yes they would understand but...), and couldn't talk to people at church (there would just be alot of pity and my uncle goes to our church and things would get back to my parents).
