**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

I did check our actual city park & recs. I was looking at the one Jordyn goes to school in since its a different school district. our actual city is small and has a very small park & recs, it just started doing summer programs last year. They don't have a schedule up yet, but it looks like they at least have basketball, so I may be able to get him signed up for one of those.

Or IMO we'll just send him back to the hockey arena that we sent him to 2 summers ago. He now knows how to skate and play hockey AND he's old enough to do the teen program which is a lot more stuff involved in it. I am going to try and convince DH to let me sign him up for a week of that one because honestly I know DSS doesn't want to spend 5 weeks running service calls with DH and I will not have him sitting at our house playing video games for 12 hours straight while I am at work and Jordyn is at cheer camp and/or working.

I dont blame you. I am suggesting drama camp for TJ because he loves to dramatize everything. so i think he will be good at it. instead of playing video games all summer long and not wanting to do anything. and I am looking into a mad science day or week camp so he can get out of the house everyday. its hard when you dont have anyone to drive and pick up but since DH is home during the day he can arrange his sleep schedule around that.

Ya, we'll have to figure out the drop off and pick up, but as long as I don't schedule it the week Jordyn is at cheer camp, she can do at least the drop off in the mornings since she shouldn't be working at a job that early in the morning. And I know she'd rather have it a week when she is home instead of the week she's gone ;-)

You might check the local school district also. In MIchigan Jordyn's h/s drama club did a week long drama daycamp each year. It helped raise money for the drama booster club and it was high school students as well as the drama director working at it, so they were always really great with the kids.

ahh, just a thought. Well, if you are there, then its a good idea, if you aren't, heck, you never know what you might find where you end up. ;-)

I'm trying to figure out a way that i can possibly coordinate it so that Emma flies up to Michigan with Jordyn when she goes, and can stay up there for a few days before I drive up for a mini-vacation this summer with my parents. That, or we drive up after Jordyn is already up there, and then I leave Emma there with them when I leave and she flies back with Jordyn.

I know its a bit of a long shot, and Jordyn will hate the idea. But Emma is old enough now to go up for some time on her own with my parents. And it would be a nice break for me...
