**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Having a game plan up front I'd the first step, and easing into it by doing the farmer's market is a good test market.

Leaving a small basket of candies and jams for your cabin guests may be a good idea also, then it's a nice word of mouth referral for out of towers and stuff, you can then get some orders from email or whatever also. The one fisge shop in mackinaw that is only open from like April to October, they take email orders through their website and ship the fudge. I love it, some of the best I've ever found, so the years jordyn doesn't travel up there to bring me some back, I order some to have shipped to us. I usually wait til near the end of the season to have closer to the holidays. Offering baksets for holidays and stuff is another good idea, you can have a couple of ones made up, photograph them and then take emails orders to be able to have them shipped as gifts to people.

Hope the travel plans work out okay and you guys have a good holiday. We are just hanging out at the house, no plans this year. I am just hoping DH doesn't get any calls since he does the turkey. I can do it, but it is nice for him to do this one thing a year. ;0)

I have been considering an email component to the business as well.

Even a simple website is helpful and inexpensive, selling maybe one basket a month could easily pay for the cost of the basket, then you've got a visual of things for people.

Hugs to DS, the first big break up is always hard, even if it wasn't much of a relationship. How long had they been "seeing each other"?

Oh, he has had several girlfriends since we moved up here. He was "in a relationship" with this girl for a couple of months. They met at a volleyball game at our school. They mostly just texted and facebooked each other.
