**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Cheryl, Madison LOVES the fridge magnet barn yard set. Here is the amazon link, she presses it and dances around the kitchen to the songs it plays. And look in the "customers who bought this also bought" there is a cool zoo animal play set and a melissa and Doug animal magnets that also look good

The brakes had been making noises for weeks, but he hasn't wanted to put much money into a truck with 480,000 miles on it, so I'm glad he realized it was a safety issue and not her must complaining. He didn't get her oil changed, but it can wait one more week. Ya, the battery thing may be an issue...

Cheryl, if it's the same thing, Madison had that fray la color thing that makes sounds when you color and she loved it!! Is it markers or crayons? I think the only issue we encountered was that she'd always end up with marker all over the side of her palm because of the way she colored, but think they are washable markers.

OMG Tracy- that is just TOO cute!

I'm going to look at some of the other sets- that's much cuter than the Crayola thing I've currently got in my Amazon basket.

My niece is going to kill me if I get Penny anything else that makes noise LOL

Or SIL, since the toy may make its way over there LOL

Chelle, my dad was like that growing up. He didn't know how to fix cars, but whenever I told him something "felt" wrong, he said I was just mistaken. It always ended up being something that needed to be fixed! The only good thing now is that I am pretty good at diagnosing what's wrong with a car just by the sound its making.

The nice thing about hte leapfrog magnets is it does have 2 sound settings, so if Madison sets it on teh lower one, I can only hear it when I'm in the kitchen with her, it doesn't flow into the living room and so its pretty tolerable. And the songs are pretty cute, I actually find myself humming them once in a while. LOL! We have both the farm animals and the letter one, and I was debating getting Emma the 3 letter one to work on words since she's wanting to work on reading and I don't know where exactly to start with her, I suppose its my lazy way of helping her without putting much effort into it. LOL! I would be horrible at homeschooling!

Brian purposely gets the nephews loud toys if we get them gifts for their birthday, he says its his way of getting back at his big brother for all the things he did to him growing up. I try to be a bit nicer, figuring they will just return the "favor" when its are kids' turn. My SIL apologized profusely when she got Madison the Making Mud Pies kitchen set for her birthday, but honestly, its outdoors on the patio and its one of the toys the girls play with the most, so I don't mind it.
