**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Apparently my brother didn't like my text, or I hurt his feelings, whatever... He kept texting me complaining the amount of taxes taken out of his paycheck and how "poor" people like him are taxed to death. I finally told him if all he was going ot do was whine about taxes, stop texting me, I had better things to do with my time. And I haven't heard anything else from him. But goodness gracious, all he does is whine about everything!!

You're right Cheryl, I'm sure they'll mail something home, you'd just think if they made a big deal about posting it at school, they'd make it a bit easier on them to know if they go in or not or whatever. Oh well, she'll figure it out eventually I'm sure.

So I went to the meeting this evening and received the Pre-ACT results for Kenzie! Surprise surprise she tests above in English, but is behind in Math and Science. Not a good thing. Her score was decent and she is testing fairly well, but they say this will help them pick classes for HS to prepare for the "Plan" test in 10th grade and then ultimately the ACT! The district actually paid the 11th graders to take the ACT this year and they hope to pay for it for years to come. So she will need to buck up on Math and Science; especially since she is hoping to go into Perinatology/neonatology She does well in both Math and Science (so that score is a bit disheartening, but the dean did say testing can be so variable day by day.

This is all new to DH and I, so we are not real certain how to feel about this. We always talk to our kids about college, so we know they are thinking of what they need to do for their future.

Oh, so Jordyn made NHS!!! She went into the sponsor's room after school to get her app number. She was super excited. Said she'd be getting a package in the mail with all the info on the induction ceremony, rsvp info and everything.

Goodness gracious. I got the veggie tales umbrella on Wednesday and assumed it was MIL, but it wasn't, it was from MIL's mom. I got an email from her last night with a run down of what she bought for each of the kids, she basically took half of each kids' list I sent to MIL and bought for them. Then I had a box arrive last night from amazon with MIL's gifts, mostly for Jordyn, so all but one thing on Jordyn's list was bought, and there are only 1-2 things each left on the little girl's lists, so I assume those will end up arriving later on.

Plus my dad mailed a box out on Tuesday from my mom, and that didn't even include all the gifts she bought, she's still debating mailing them down or just sending an extra suitcase with my brother!!

So, given all that, I don't feel bad in saying that I am officially done with the kids for christmas. They do not need anything else from anyone, and heck, I thought I had parred things down this year and had done really well!!! I guess that's grandparents for you huh. LOL!

Girls' christmas picture, I am so proud of them, for 3 girls, including a 2 and 4 year old, they turned out pretty darn good!
