**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

DS went downstairs to get some ice from the icemaker down there, and apparently something went very very wrong with the icemaker because the bin that catches the ice was not full of ice cubes, but one enormous block of ice. **sigh**

DD has to work from 3:30 until close at 9:00, and she's going to run some errands for me before work.

Tree is up and ornaments are on, though I may rearrange some while the girls are sleeping...

Would love my ceramic gingerbread house to go on the mantle, too bad we don't have one. :0(. I'm going to take it in and put it up in my cube at work.

If your 11 y.o. niece likes American Girl stuff, you could get her a subscription to American Girl magazine. It doesn't really have much to do with the dolls, etc, but there are stories and crafts and good articles. I bought a subscription for DD for several years when she was around that age and she enjoyed it.

I have the my k-cup, I bought it at BBB with a 20% off after I got mine. I have one ground coffee from the bagel shop I love that I use it with when I don't have time or need to brew an entire pot. I love having it. I hadn't heard of the eckobrew, but if it's about the same, you should be good.

The American girl magazine is a good idea, you can also get the 18 inch doll clothing from target, they have an equivalent to it and it's cheaper. As a matter of fact, I think I saw a set of clothes for those dolls at Joann's yesterday, if you get coupons it could be pretty inexpensive.

So my brother called, he hadn't ordered the camera yet and he went to do it today and they have the bundle pack with the extra lens for it for $879, the entire bundle usually is around $1500 so he wanted "permission" to get it for her. Not that he needed it, and he would have done it even if I had told him no. But the extra money it costs for the lens,I think I'm just going to have him send him a few checks in the mail to cover it. I'm still wincing at it, I know it's an awesome deal, but I am just thinking what I've already bought her. I think it's just because the class ring also is coming... And they said senior year was the expensive year, how much more expensive can it get???

Boy, I don't know. Freshman year (DS) and Sophomore year (DD) are proving to be pretty expensive already, between sports fees and all the costs associated with him playing pretty much everything that's offered, DS's letter jacket, DD's class ring, annuals are being ordered right now, and next week, DD is supposed to go to the U of M in Minneapolis to do some career exploration thing for the medical school.
