**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Well, the ped couldn't even see her eardrum in her right ear. I don't understand how DH could say it was all clean and clear last night and have it completely blocked again today, but I didn't want to push things. The ped said more than likely her eardrum perferated, from my description. He gave us an antibiotic and also a prescription for eardrops as an antibiotic inside the ear that was also okay if it migrated into the middle ear. He said we'll still continue to get discharge from that ear for a while, but to come back in 2-3 weeks and we'll see how its clearing up. He said if at that time its still not clear, or if its still full of wax, he'd prefer we go see an ENT since they have the equipment to clean things out better and painlessly. That should actually work out well, we should be able to go in while my brother is in town while I am already taking time off work.

Both kids have had issues with excess earwax.

DH gets pissy with me when I use a q-tip in their ears, so I do it when he's not around. We do candle their ears, and i had just done Madison's in early October and 10 days ago, and got quite a bit out, so I'm not sure why all of a sudden she has a ton that is causing a problem. I was more concerned with the pain she was obviously getting from it and was more concerned there was an infection behind the wax that couldn't be seen. She's had ear infections before, but never pain with it like this time around.

He also gave me a paper on night terrors. He said at first what I started describing sounded like a night terror, but when I got to the part about her staying up for a few hours afterwards with ear pain he said no. But since she did get up last night again screaming, seemed dazed and confused and then went right back to sleep, that did sound like a "typical" night terror. And to have the sheet so that if it happened more, I'd have some info and some things to try and help with it.

I don't know if I'm ever ordering anything from Best Buy.com ever again.

Cheryl, DH had some issues with Best Buy and his order of MW3, he called them and got extremely frustrated with them. He ended up going and buying it from the store and then returning the one that finally arrived in the mail. Wish your experience was better!!

Listening to the coach's press conference from today about the stupid Lions' game from last night. What an awful game!

Don't know if it's Best Buy's fault or the post office.

I'm not sure whose fault it was for ours either since DH ordered it and did the talking. I think it was more the post office, or UPS, and it did end up arriving at the house sooner than they told him on the phone, but it was longer than he wanted to wait. But, that's what he gets, he should have just went to the store in the first place and bought it. Hopefully it works out and arrives on time.

I think things are just taking longer right now. My dad mailed a package for us UPS last Tuesday. Usually it would have always made it by Friday, but he tracked it and its supposed to arrive today instead. I told DH to leave UPS a note to put it on the side porch since its supposed to rain all day again and I don't want it getting soaked, and if I know my mom, the box won't fit in a garbage bag. LOL! I have no idea how many other christmas presents are coming over the next few weeks either...

DYK there was a large stack of packages on the doorstep when I arrived home. I open the first box, which is already mostly opened, it's a barbie doll set for Emma. Except that same gift arrived last week, apparently from the other grandma... I really can't believe that they both ordered the same gifts! I mean, I don't want to sound ungrateful, I am appreciative of the gifts they send, but really, I send one list to MIL, you'd think if she was going to pass along the list, she would delete the things she already decided to order or something, or they'd consult since there was only 5 gifts on each list. I guess I need to call amazon and see if I have to mail them back in separate boxes or what.
