**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Good for you Wendy! I can get ready and out of the house pretty quickly alone, it's just two little anchors that tend o slow me down. ;0)

So we had our first "sit down" with the new boss today. We had a brief that had to be filed today, my other boss, the one doing that case, had to leave on a family emergency yesterday and didn't know if he would be in today, so the new boss was given my draft to finalize and get out the door. Other boss came back in today, we all worked on the brief to get it filed, and at the end of the day the new boss basis come in and he went through the brief step by step and let us know what "he" does and how we should change the things he pointed out that were "wrong" and we should make the adjustments to doing things the way he does them. Sigh...

Now, I have been through bosses before, and I feel like I am pretty easy to work with. But last time I checked, unless you were hired with the specific duty to come in and fix problems, you normally come into a position, survey the land a bit, get your feet wet and see who things and procedures happen, you don't come in and automatically start changing things to make everything how you want it to be, especially considering we have processes that are already in p,ace, and it's not like he's the division boss, he's the supervising attorney for 2 attorneys and a paralegal. And he was nice enough to tell me "how lucky" I am that I am "allowed" to do certain things, because when he was a paralegal, it was the rare occasion he drafted and edited documents for attorneys. Luckily, in the mood I was in,my other boss stepped in and said a few things, because frankly, at that point, I wad about to put my foot in my mouth and say a few things that I might have regretted tomorrow. Sigh, so frustrated, this transition is going to be a hard one, for all of us, I can already tell.

DS walks in the door just now and says, "You probably should have come to that parent meeting tonight."

I mean, it could be worse, he could have come in 4 months from now during the middle of our busiest time and tried to do these things, when I even more stressed out and likely to really say something snippy. I just have so many other things going in right now both at work and at hoe that are really pulling me all over the place, so the fact that I can see my work environment going downhill just frightens me a bit, and makes me think that looking at ore opportunities may be what's in the cards for me. I'm going to continue to work through things and see if they settle down as he settles in, but if this is how it's constantly going to be, I don't know that it's going to work.

And really, seriously, I've been doing this for 15 years! I have an associates, a bachelors and started on my masters. If he bothered to actually get to know us a bit, as people, or maybe even our experience and how long we've been at the agency, doing these and other jobs, he might find out we sorta know what we are doing. When I left for Lunch yesterday he asked me what I was doing and exactly how long I was going to be gone, and when exactly I was going to be back. Now I am all for disclosure and I am very open about answering my cell phone, answering emails from home and night etc., but you've been here 3 weeks, I don't take lunches often, or even the entire hour for them, and we are all adults, I don't feel like I need to be interrogated to go take my lunch. Yes, I'm going to dwell on this for a while, I need to get the kids to bed, run to CVS when jordyn gets home, do DH's invoices, and clean the house. Hopefully during all of that, I can decompress and. Calm down a bit.
