**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

ok, just got a spreadsheet emailed to me from another department we work closely with, and I feel completely lacking in my organizational skills at the moment becuase of it.

Add something else to my to do list, apparently its the day to drop a bunch of stuff in Tracy's lap...

Tracy, When Katie and Natalie were babies I didn't go anywhere travel wise for the first 2 or three years of their lives. They were born in May and that following November we traveled to Michigan for Thanksgiving so everyone could see the babies. It was THE most miserable trip of my life. The babies ans I slept in one room alone and they didn't sleep. Tim and Matthew shared the pull out couch on the basement. So he got plenty of sleep and did all the driving. I sat in the back of the car and slept while Matthew sat behind his daddy catty corner so Tim could give him drinks and stuff. I felt like crap the whole trip besides being exhausted. I swore then I'd never go anywhere with them as babies anymore.

I am excited for you!!!! I've never been to Hilton Head, but my parents have, and they loved it. I'm kind of jealous. lol. We don't travel too much anymore. When things were a little more prosperous for us (it was just Nathan and I then) we went to DisneyWorld twice (once with my parents, second for his 6th b-day). And we went to Hershey PA for his 7th b-day.
In the past few years we have gone up to the mountains in New Hampshire. But my parents put their camper up there every summer for the entire summer. When we go up it's because my dh has to work on the camper (my dad is disabled now). We try to make it a vacation for the kids but it's usually only a weekend or maybe 3 days if we are lucky.
And I agree, traveling with babies is awful.....last summer Xander refused to sleep, made for some difficult days.

We use to go to Dollywood every year a few years back but things got ighter and we had to stop. I think when the gas prices went up the first time we had to stay home. In 2006 we went to Disney World but we only managed that cause we had a pop-up camper and it made it easy to travel. Staying at thier camp grounds was cheaper then at a resort. It was fun, bon fires nightly along with an outdoor Disney movie. Little carts to drive everywhere and Disney Characters. It was fun.

Now we only go on vacation if we get these types of deals. Seems to work out every years these days and we are very grateful things like this happen. It's a blessing.

This is probably more of a soapbox thing than a DYK, but why do I have to pay $50 for a haircut??
