So did Gab.But I do know that in Pa if you did not have it before 7th grade when it is required for everyone you only had to get one dose. They are not going to make you get two doses just to have 2 doses.I would think if you have a drs note you'd be fine.
Oh I see what you mean, I wasn't even considering THAT..that if they weren't required to have it when they started K, that they would only need the one dose at that time.
So I guess they do it the same way here..again I'm not sure if it was required or not when Aly started (and probably no way to tell now).
well, I guess there is a way to tell. I looked up the history, and apparently it became required the year after Aly started. Since that would be after 6th grade for most students, they are not required the 2 doses. Don't know how that works for students who are just entering 6th grade this year (and needs to show proof of 2 doses and they didn't get the first yet) but failed a grade or 2, I guess they're just exempt from 2 doses?
I don't personally know anyone in that predicament.
Okay, so a student entering 7th grade this year (and not required to bring in new proof of immunization at this time) would not have been required to get the shot.
But a student entering 6th grade this year, and has not failed, would have been required to have the shot.
The problem comes in with a child who has failed or has been held back. If they entered K in 2002, but failed say 4th grade, and didn't have the shot since it wasn't required would be a child in that predicament.

I had the school send me Abby's records since I couldn't find my copy.
I'm not sure what they added, I think the school website has it listed.
I guess I should check that too.
