well, I guess my dh heard....from where, I don't know... something about schools going to 4 day weeks? getting rid of even more extra activities.

Pretty much, I know my kids would not be able to be in GT. Or Amanda would not be able to go up a grade in certain subjects. Or they wouldn't have music, PE, or computer. Heck..they didn't have that stuff when Andrew was there...Once a month PE, music and computer..LOL

if the gas prices go up to $4 again, our district will probably consider 4-day weeks.

There's a school district not far from us that has gone to 4-day weeks for a few years now.

Out of curiousity, how do you get through middle school (or high school) without pre-algebra or algebra?

Algebra is a high school class. While there is algebra in some middle school curriculum, it's still general math, with pre-algebra in 8th grade. Some students, who are gifted or advanced, may take algebra in middle school, but as a general course, it's the first math of high school.

A lot has changed since I was in high school, but our high school requirements for diploma were algebra, geometry, and one other math. I, of course, took more than that (I took Algebra II, Advanced Math, and Physics), but my only high school regret is that I didn't take Calculus. Only 2 students in our graduating class took Calculus, and I wish I had now. I was so lost in Calculus in college, even though I excelled in every other math course I took for my 2 degrees.

I'm uploading pics to get printed at Walgreen's. They have a buy 25, get 25 free deal, and I can use the code up to 5 times.

Matthew did NOT know what he was in for, LOL

Michael took him to Friendly's, his favorite restaurant, and they ate dinner and then shared a banana split (I can pretty much guarantee Michael was the one eating the banana, and Matthew ate the ice cream, LOL)

Michael said it went really well, but yes, Matthew did blush a lot

Michael claimed that HE was not embarrassed telling him, but I'll bet he was a bit ;)

On the way home, I guess Michael asked Matthew if he had any questions, and Matthew told him that he didn't, and that he knew "some of it already" from his friends

Michael even apparently went as far as explaining AF, and women's cycles to him (!!)

I'm not sure that was necessary yet, but it's all out now, LOL

When Matthew walked in, he kissed and hugged me and went and got in the shower, and was very quiet

He is still my little boy enough that I went in and kissed and hugged him Goodnight, and sang him a Goodnight song :)
