**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Thanks Ladies! A majority of the swim families have respect for each other; it's these few that just don't get it. I'm sorry Megan has to go through it too and glad I'm not the only one that thinks they really are acting like Tweens/teens themselves. From now on we will just make sure we move if they come around us (which they came in after us and only stayed because these group of girls were with them, normally they move if they see us, but they felt power) and smile and say HI whenever we see this group.

Kenzie did fairly well. Dropped in all, but the 100 backstroke. She's quite pleased with herself. She knew none of this was going on, which just goes to show she's over it and moved on. What's even more interesting is another family is having the same issues with this family, sigh. I hope they find an easier solution to deal with it!

Congrats! Good luck in your search for a database. I used to be in IT and my dh still is so if you need suggestions or have questions, we might be able to help.

I'm so sorry you have to endure this!! It really surprises me that they would heave that way. There is one family in our club that won't say much to me or acknowledge Megan's talents but that's about it. After she won the regional championship in 100 back and their daughter placed 8th, all the dad said to me was "that was a state cut wasn't it?" No congratulations, no "nice swim" but nothing downright rude. Hang in there.

Oh, and for the record, I probably would have gone a step farther and said something I regretted so I admire you for not totally losing it.

How did Kenzie do? Megan equalled her seed time or cut time in everything and came in ahead of her seeding so all, in all, a good meet for her.

Sorry those people were so rude.

You'd think parents of "tweenage" and "teenage" girls would know how to act better than the girls................

That sucks that they still haven't gotten over things and that they are being so immature about things.

Totally lost my cool tonight. Flicked off some little snots. Apparently the former teammate has not gotten over our daughter and my mom and I had to endure watching the parents of this swimmer and her friends mock and make faces at our coach and my daughter. Apparently, the daughter beat ours (they no longer swim in the same age group) and so as I walked past their entourage, they said, "HAHA!" I evaluated whom was around me and turned around and gave them the finger. These girls were so superficial and it just radiated off of them, the finger was the least of what I could do. But I stooped to their level and I hate doing that. Aaaggghhh, I'm really not classless, I'm just at the end of my rope with this crazy lady. I feel like I'm in that show, "dance moms," but it's "swim moms!" :smileysad:
