DYK Thread for May

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

I am very remiss at having NOT taught my kids Greek very well

I thought when I was pregnant with Matthew: "I'll raise my kids bilingual!"

When he was a baby, I used to speak Greek to him

Over the years, I slacked off

And it's hard since Michael doesn't know Greek

But my kids do understand some, they just don't speak it much

My parents (Especially my mom) will talk to them in Greek, and I know they understand, because they answer her (correctly) in English, LOL

You could get one of those lampshade collars like a cat or dog wears and just make it huge so she can't reach her chin, LOL ;)

Yes, it's killer

I even hate it and I'm an adult

But my kids are also older than Emma

I think I would ask Michael to give them a sedative, like Benadryl, and I'm not even kidding!

That way they would sleep through the flight

That is really interesting!

Jordyn had a friend in gymnastics, her mom immigrated from Russia when she was in her teens, she's now in her 40's.

I am actually most worried about my mom right now

This is her sister, whom she rarely sees, and it will be hard for her if she dies

My thoughts in my head are usually in English

When I was little, they were often in Greek though

I dream in English more than I dream in Greek

What's weird is, I often pray in Greek though

I think that is because I grew up in the Greek Orthodox Church where the service was in Greek, so I learned to pray in Greek first, KWIM?
