DYK Thread for May

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Mike has been working for the past 2 weeks (it's a short job...he'll be finished next week), so I was hoping he wouldn't have me pursue it anymore...I don't want to do summer school.

we get paid on a 12-month schedule, so I won't have a lack of my paycheck since they divide our salary into 12 payments.

DYK Alysha I wonder when you will have to decide for certain about summer school? I hope you are able to do as you would prefer.

well, if I get a call or an e-mail and we're not out of town, then I will probably take it. Summer remediation starts June 1, next Monday.

Almost, I filled in the nail holes with wood filler this morning and then stained it. I need to do at least one more coat of stain. Then it should be about finished. It won't have a mantle on it, not for a while yet, but at least the tile and trim work will all be done.

I'm glad to hear that, at least it was something for him.

I can imagine about summer. I like working, but there are times I wish I could go down to part time or have summers off or something.

DH asked me 2 weekends ago how long i was taking for maternity leave. I told him 8-9 weeks, depending on if the baby is born on time or early. He asked what I in the world I was going to do for that long sitting at home.

I'm not sure if he was joking with me or not...

Teachers here in Texas have the option of getting paid on a 9 month pay cycle or 12 months. I can see the pros and cons to both, but it seems like it would be less stressful to have a 12 month cycle.

we don't have the choice, but if I were given the choice, I would certainly choose 12 months.

I couldn't imagine not having a paycheck for 3 months!
