DYK Thread for April

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

thanks. Since I've been getting to school late, the sun's been wanting to peek out when I arrive at school (still dark all the way there).

I'm hoping when we go back after the Easter holidays that it will be light for at least half of my trip.

Not that I want to be getting up earlier, I am always exhausted in the morning, even after 8 hours of sleep, but I could get so much more done if I got up earlier in the morning instead of being awake later at night.

it was a very positive and nice e-mail. He complimented all employees at all the schools.

Our last superintendent spent a year in the position learning how to NOT use all caps all the time, and his Christmas cheer letter his first year was about how we could expect positions to be lost (it was right after Katrina & Rita).

What about the bells? Cloche volants or Flying Bells are another important symbol in the French Easter tradition. Traditional belief holds that on Good Friday all the church bells in France miraculously ‘fly’ off to the Vatican. The bells carry all the grief of those mourning Jesus' crucifixion. These flying French bells then return to their steeples on Easter morning just in time to ring for the celebration of Jesus' resurrection. The bells also bring back chocolate and decorated eggs just in time for children to collect when they wake up on Easter morning. In keeping with this tradition, French church bells do not ring from Good Friday to Easter morning.

I actually chit-chat with this person when I see him. Before he was superintendent, I student-taught his daughter. So, I always ask him how she's doing and all.

He's always been so positive with me while job-hunting my first & second years (because I wasn't picked up immediately for my second-year, I had taken the position of someone who only took 1 year off).

That's very nice of you! ;-)

I miss having the time to so things like that. I used to make Jordyn care bear suckers often, I had the molds many years ago, left over from when I was a kid and my mom had bought them. And I would make easter medallions for her basket and stuff.
