DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

It's $303 for labor & parts, not too pricey, but more than I'd like to spend..lol.

I have a feeling it's going to come back strong when it gets colder, too.

You know I have been here almost 4 years now and I still haven't been down to see the bats yet. They were just doing a story on it last night on the news.

we have bats in our backyard!!! I had no idea, I'm not surprised, I'm just surprised it didn't take me long to find them.

When I told a friend (that lives more rural than I but just 20 minutes away) about the bat in the car, she said she watches them every night. I told we're probably too "city" to see them, and she said she doubted it. I've been forgetting to go outside at twilight, so I just did. It took less than a minute to see 2 bats! If she hadn't told me about their flight pattern (they never glide, continually flap), I wouldn't have known they were bats. I just called her to confirm that they also have very erratic flight patterns unlike birds.

Aly thinks it is sooo cool, but still wants to go to Austin to see them.

Now, I just have to make that bat dropping box...lol

the high school where I teach at the middle school had bats in the cafeteria 3 years ago. They HAD to get rid of them due to it being a health violation.

We went to O'Charley's, a steak restaurant. It was pretty good, they have my favorite salads!

cool--I've never been there, but they catered something Aly had at her elementary school once and it was DELISH!!! (some kind of crawfish pasta dish)

They have free steak for your birthday, right?

I had a salad tonight (that I made myself--romaine, spinach, red onions, tomatoes, broccoli, parmesan, almonds, & buttermilk ranch).
