DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

DYK DH informs me I'm going in to work early...he can't leave early to take Jamie to her summer lax league game at 6pm so I get to. In that case I'll go up to get ready for bed since I'll be up at 4:30am.

DYK here's one more pic of Rach (4th girl in uniform from left)

I had to go to Home Depot AND Lowe's Tuesday.

Home Depot had small room fans that I liked, but not one for the living room in the brand, colors, globes I liked. So I had to go to Lowe's. I didn't realize the one I bought at Lowe's had "candelabra" bulbs..ugh!...like the little skinny screw-in part. Oh, well...at least I had bought 10 of them last week, and ended up changing out the candelabra for a fan that they were for (we also use them on the outside front porch lights).

But I had them change the dimmer switch back to a regular switch so I could use CFLs in that fixture..and now I can't.

Home Depot & Lowe's both stink. That wood smell burns my nose really bad...I hate it. Lowe's is just a tiny bit more tolerable.

I know here they also get more strict at the middle school level and a few have gone to a full dress code.

We have before, but it's not an ongoing annual thing...it's just if it happens, it happens. They've also done it for Christmas shopping like the second weekend of December...again not an ongoing annual thing.

Haven't heard of it this year.

If I buy uniform pieces from Academy (only available in July & August), it's $5.99 a shirt, $7.99 shorts/skorts, $9.99 pants.

If I buy them from a local vendor, it's about $14.98 for bottoms (I only buy shirts from Academy, but the local vendor has more and better skort options, and they ALWAYS have uniforms...so if she outgrows during the year, we buy from here).

I don't buy from Wal-mart and Target is not an approved vendor..not that that matters much...many of the kids buy from Abercrombie & places like that, and they're not approved either.

DYK I will pray for no more date changes, a smooth operation, and a speedy recovery.
