DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

I think so too. She said in her email the hair dresser (a friend of mine) cut an inch and a half off and relayered it. I think its just the relayering that she isn't used to. But her hair had gotten too thick and unruly with her waves.

I suppose you are right. And no, DH said exactly what he meant, a typical guy thing, but as usual it just shows how much he doesn't know Jordyn yet.

I think her hair looks really good! I have to take Kass in about a week to have her hair done and she's already nervous about it.

I agree with you on the CFLs. Did I mention that we changed out the dimmer in our living room--only to find out that the fan I bought for the living room uses the candelabra bulbs (the teeny tiny screw-ins)? Ugh. At least I had just bought 2 6-packs, and then got rid of the chandelier we used them for (we still use them on our porch lights, but those rarely need changing...the chandelier would burn them out quickly).

Home Despot is our first choice only because it's in-parish, and in-parish sales tax comes back to me directly as a teacher (as voted in the 1960s by parish residents). We have to go to Baton Rouge to buy at Lowe's (and Target, which is why Wal-mart is still my number 1 place to go).

Our state testing is a few weeks before the end of school (even though it's a lot closer to the end this year & last) so that we can have the scores back before report cards go out. That way, for the grades that it's high-stakes for (4th & 8th), they can re-take it over the summer (they get a remedial course for free as well) and possibly move on.

Aly's hair got thick & wavy with the cut before last. We had cut it so many times in the past, expecting it to get thicker, and it stayed thin, and now that it is thicker (and oily--but that's a hormone thing...her skin is oily, too), I hate it.
