DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Well, I worked 4 hours in my classroom, and I should not have to do more than 2 more half-days (Tues & Fri).

Got all my decorating done, moved the contents of my desk back into my desk (from boxes that were tucked away in cabinets), hooked up all my technology from last year (I'll mention the new computer below) except my ELMO document camera--didn't figure that one out--will need to look at someone else's, and made some first week copies and placed them in my daily folders.

I also got a new classroom computer (hand-me-down computer lab computer for student use) that I did NOT hook up because I don't have a Cat 5 cord (can't even use desktop stuff on these without it being hooked up to the network) and I don't have a place to put them close to the hook-up. I put up a proposal on Donors Choose for a computer table, so if anybody works for someone that likes to donate for tax deductions, please give me a holler!!! ;o)

Tomorrow Aly & I have eye dr appts. Hopefully, Aly won't need glasses. The last couple times, they wrote a script, but suggested not even bothering since it was so light (once you start wearing glasses, your eyes weaken even more). She's NEVER complained about eyesight, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

I need new glasses, and I'm not good at picking them out on my own--I can't SEE what they look like on me until they have my lenses in them, and then it's too late to change my mind.

I had bought Aly a skort at the end of the year, but she wore pants through the end (cold classrooms). She tried it on this week, and it was too tight. It still had the tags on it...this was from a local store.

I brought them in today, and they let me exchange them for some shorts in her size. I was very happy with that!!

So, she has 2 pairs of shorts that fit as of now. Haven't tried her shirts on yet. Need to buy one more pair of shorts and three pairs of pants from Academy, plus t-shirts as I'm pretty sure hers are too tight. She doesn't want skorts this year.

But she does need shoes. Her toes are almost at the end of her sneakers (but they are over a year old).

her Rocket Dogs still fit, but she can't wear those when it rains, so I still need to buy her some leather sneakers.
