DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

DYK I'm sure the alternator wasn't cheap...so you should be set for the battery since they last about 4-5 yrs anyway. Interesting about the radiator...any idea how that might have happened? Is Mike going to buy a similar sized vehicle as replacement? I know Charles looked at the Civic & Accord...he prefers manuals & those are still available in manual.

DYK the most difficult part is the diagnosis....the dealer did a cursory check & didn't see a leak anywhere. Diagnosis of an oil leak is a labor intensive job (i.e. expensive since it involves a lot of time)...which is why DH is just thinking of ditching the car....its become unreliable.

that was a new battery--it was only 2 years old!

Mike's going to need a new one soon--his is 9 years old. I looked up his papers before he left.

It was probably road debris thrown at the radiator...he was on the interstate--didn't hear anything, though.

Either Corolla or Civic...unless he decides to go small truck, but he can't go truck..he'll have to wait until we get our second new vehicle. If we get the Corolla, we'll probably get it from the same place we got our first--where we still take it, even though SIL works for a business that has an out-of-state Toyota dealership. We'll get the Civic from her if we go that route.

Brian flies to Michigan July 29, picks him up July 30, and they fly back here on July 31, and then Brian has to drop him back off the afternoon of August 12. So I guess I do actually have 2 weeks after he's left to do some things, but i know Jordyn has some freshman activities and cheerleading stuff the following week before she goes back to school Aug. 24.

Madison has slept ALL morning, which in a sense is good. I need to get her up soon to feed her before getting Jordyn. What you wanna bet that if I get a bowl of cereal out to eat she'll wake up. :-)
