DYK Thread for JULY

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

The Corolla is definitely bigger inside now--more leg room in the back seat at least. I don't know if it's so much that it's bigger, but the seats we have are soooo deep in the back--they're not bucket, but they're not really bench either, but it's so wide from the back of the seat to the edge. We had a tough time with car seats...had to have them professionally put in.

I know--I am not looking forward to driving this afternoon out of town. Of course, the downpours yesterday probably cooled it off a lot here.

actually I teach about oil slicks...which can be natural as well as man-made, because most of the oil in the ocean is from leaking of oil from under the ocean, and that's just as much a danger to animals as an oil spill.

the animals affected by natural oil slicks don't get as much attention as the man-made ones because 1) it's not NEWS, and 2) when a man-made oil spill occurs, people know about it--it's more difficult to know about a natural oil leak.

it's my favorite experiment of the year, btw

we use feathers (that were not pulled from birds--no cruelty--they just fell), olive oil, Dawn, water, the microscope (my digital one that's projected on the big screen)
