~~~~~~~~~~DYK Thread for SEPTEMBER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.
dyk I can't forgive you as I agree and appreciate what you are saying
dyk a year ago I honestly believed there was no way we would not have a definitive answer shortly
dyk I am appreciative of all of the caring doctors and experts who have been involved since but in the 21st century astonished there are no answers
dyk this is why we agreed to the laparascopy surgery as it can show things we could not see with any testing done to date
dyk she is already texting me from the bathroom at school
dyk I just want to pull all of my hair out
dyk I just wish this was over and she could be a normal 12 year old
dyk I am really struggling with it all truth be told
dyk 18 mos ago I would say age led them to not push so much or order a lot of testing assuming it was too much to put her through AND her body may be more normal with time
dyk by a year ago we switched and got more agressive
dyk now we are literally out of "options" besides repeating tests and seeing if there are changes over time unless we moved on to the surgery
dyk we had considered surgery and decided no for now (my dh and I) before Amy's hospitalization
dyk after that it was a no brainer to move forward with the laparascopy
dyk with how many different doctors have been involved and the amount of time I am certain there is no obvious or even hidden answer that can be uncovered just yet
dyk part of the surgery scare is the #1 thing it may uncover is incurable
dyk endometriosis is a strong possibility
dyk the lap is to confirm or rule out that diagnosis
dyk I am thankful since it isn't curable that it isn't fatal and ins't untreatable
dyk Amy is only 12
dyk she has never had a normal menstrual experience
dyk she has had to grow up as a result of this way too fast in some ways
dyk after her hospitalization and follow up it felt "better" knowing we had a game plan in place
dyk it feels like that may now be all out the window with her bleeding so heavily when she shouldn't be doing anything at all or at worst spotting
