~~~~~~~~~~DYK Thread for SEPTEMBER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.
The only bad thing about Depo is that I put weight on with it :P
I made the decision to take it years ago b/c I have endometriosis, and I was tired of horrible periods.
DYK I recv'd a questionaire over summer for federal criminal jury duty. I was lucky & received a call last month that I wouldn't need to worry about being called upon. It was a gang/drug type trial but I read in the paper it was settled out of court *phew*! DH had to serve on a jury for a criminal drug trial & it lasted a month plus it was in downtown Baltimore...definitely a burden.
The first 2 years I was on it, I never gained any weight on it.
My dad has ended up on 3 or 4 jury trials, one that lasted about 2 weeks I think.
I got summoned for one when I was in college, but after 2 hours in the room, was dismissed with a bunch of others.
99% of what we do, there are never any juries, they are also bench trials.
In all the years I've done law, I've only worked for 2 attorneys that did jury trials, one went to trial but I wasn't involved in anything other than "back at the office" stuff, and the other one settled shortly before going to court, but we done all the run up to trial prep stuff.
