**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

School was delayed 2 hours today because of the flooding from the tropical storm. She still wasn't feeling great, and since it was going to be a short day I didn't push her to go to school.
I think it was a good choice. She looked bad still this morning, but then around 11:00 she came in my room and talked to me for a while, and she was more like her normal self.
I told her she should be studying for the tests she has to make up when she gets back, and she said she would. She was reading at the time. I thought it was for fun, but it turns out the book she was about to start qualified for one of the books she has to read this 6 weeks for QUEST (gifted language arts), so it worked out well for her.
The flooding in our yard went down later in the evening during a lull in the rain.
We did have a 2 hour delay this morning. It wasn't bad here, but I think it was hard to get out of the area, 2 of the major roads were closed for a while.
I can never remember the district Jordyn is in, did you guys have school today?
Nope, her district was closed, we're in G-town.
Ah, this is about 4-5 miles from our house, only about 2 miles from the 9th grade center, so apparently it was a little worse than I thought near us.
