**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

That's too bad for the girls. It's always hard for the athletes when a coach leaves. Hope things smooth out soon and the girls have a terrific season.

You didn't get to hear all the drama surrounding this issue, I put it on the surviving m/s and h/s board, or did you see that thread? anyways, it will probably IMO be for the best in the long run, but I guess we'll see. I can't imagine the JV coach who is stepping in for the varsity coach could be any more disorganized, but we'll see... I haven't interacted with the JV coach at all, she's new as of last year.

Ugh, drama is the worst!  Especially coach drama.  Sounds like maybe a better situation to come! :smileyhappy:

We visited New Orlean's in 2003!  DH was being deployed to Bosnia for 9 months and so it was our last visit...it was fun and hot!  We went in mid-August!  There are places I wished I had visited, but maybe again someday!  DH hates LA, because of the heat!  The highlight of his training was playing with the black widow spiders!  Yeesh!  Let's not play dangerously before we get to play security to the Military Intelligence!!!

Well, Kenzie got another taste of "why not to hold your little brother in public!"  We were at a neighboring town parade and he was just too excited to sit in a chair, so she had him sit in her lap and help gather candy!  A lady approached her from "headstart" and tried to give her an application.  Kenzie didn't understand what was going on and so I chimed in, "I think you intend that for me!"  The lady was embarassed, said, "Oh, you are mom!" Gave me the application (which we do not qualify for) and moved on.  We make well above the income guidelines, but some days it sure doesn't seem like it!  I couldn't imagine living at that income level...I sqaubble at what everything costs and to think people make less than $23,000 for a family of 5, guess it was a wake up call to remind me that things are not that bad!

Washer has been out for a couple of months.  DH is tired of taking laundry to the parents house.  So, called the fix-it guy!  Told me, if he had known the model of the washer, he wouldn't have come.  It was a model that was produced two years and is junk!  Said, he'd fix it, but would not come again if it broke.  I told him I needed to hear the repair total and it is close to what a new washer would cost...so now onto shopping for a replacement...yay, I'm so excited!

I hear you Jenn, we make pretty good money combined but goodness if I ever have 2 nickels to run together by the end of the month! I will be so glad when September gets here and we're down to one daycare payment and an after school care payment, it will free up soo much extra!

Glad you can look for a new one! I can't imagine going back and forth for laundry. When we lived in a house off of base when we first moved down to Texas the rental house we had didn't have a washer or dryer and we weren't ready to buy one yet. DH was taking all his laundry to base to wash and I would take Jordyn and I's to the laundromat down the street. OMG, I hated it!!

I haven't minded it, because I get to visit with my mom...which doesn't happen much lately unless I go to her house. But it is getting old and annoying, so I need to stop dragging my feet and just buy a new one. Tempted to buy a used one, man have washers become expensive. Ish or I'm just a cheapskate!!!

Cool, DH just called. He isn't going to get by the chiropractor's office today to pick up the protein powder we've been using, but he said if I can get over there before they close tonight, they will go ahead and adjust the kids, which means I actually get to see how he adjusts them compared to my current chiropractor, and then its all set up for me to pick up whatever supplements I want/need. I guess I'll have to pull up the list I emailed him the other day because I don't remember what I wanted him to pick up.
