**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members.

Now I get to play phone tag with the business office at Lynchburg College on Monday.  Yay.

Got a bill in the mail saying we owed $2000.  We should owe NOTHING.  I paid what she owed for this semester last month.  SIGH.  When I called to make sure the check got there (it was a big check) the person on the other end said that she was all set for fall semester.

So then I just tore the house apart looking for the bill for Fall 2012.  Finally found it, so I have something to look at when I call. They said we could look online- but then a page pops up saying that only Lynchburg College students have access to this website. I didn't call Kristen to ask.  She'd just worry.

I hope Kristen didn't get any kind of bill in the mail in her mailbox at school.  Worrying about this is the LAST thing I want her to do.

Dyk... My father's heart surgery is scheduled for 9/18. I'm planning to be with him, my mom, and my brother 9/18-9/20. Please keep him in your prayers. He's in great physical shape and the hospital and doctors are top notch so all is in his favor going in. The issue is a genetic one. I've been designated the communication portal and well-rested member of the immediate family. Oh joy... What my mother doesn't know is that I'm a mess. I've already had a dream that he died... I need to dig deep and find strength. Doesn't help that I don't trust dh to get the kids where they need to be, make sure homework is done, and feed them.

The hospital is an hour from my parents so we're staying at a hotel nearby. My mom put me in charge of packing stuff for the hotel. Food, drinks, etc. Ideas anyone? My family tends to eat and drink our way through crises so I'd like to keep it somewhat healthy. We'll be getting enough less than optimal food at the hospital.

Hugs Ami! We will keep him, and you and the family in our thoughts and prayers!

How about some fruit and veggie trays, then at least they are conveniently cut up and ready to go for the hotel. That's all that's coming to mind at the moment.

DYK I'm either bored at work or extremely hungry.  I've spent 1/2 the day looking at recipes. (really need to work on this motivation thing..)  Anyways, I found a ton of new recipes I am super excited about trying, I need a whole weekend just to stay home and cook them all to try them.  Anyone have thoughts on starting a recipe thread here for those of us looking for some new, healthy recipes to try?
