Testing in April worked out very much to our benefit this year, because we were out 1 week for the hurricane, so I've been running 2 weeks behind since Sept. (1 week being out, and 1 week to re-teach what I taught the week before we were out...lol.)
I think I'd rather have the test in late April, that way we're not rushed to get through the curriculum AND that's less time after testing that the kids have to be in school (as far as the kids are concerned--school's over after LEAP--although this year, they've acted that way since after Thanksgiving..grrrrrr!!!!).
But, we can't have it in late April because that won't give them enough time to get the scores back for the students that have to re-test in the summer (if they failed ELA or math).
i think that is what our problem is to. they could wait but in order to get results back and extra time to take it again for the ones who failed its easier to do in march.

OK, that's crazy, but that's a bureaucracy for you!
yes, that was the more appropriate term.

I'm very pleased with my quiz results today.
Unfortunately, 4 students got biotic & abiotic factors mixed up. But last year, about 1/3 got them mixed up, so 4 vs. 50+ is a great improvement.
