the high school in the city that I live in is very huge & overcrowded.

But the reason they won't split it into 2 is because of alma mater & sports. The people who graduated want their kids to go to THAT school (okay--let's do this...all this influx of "new" people, myself included, send them to the new school...lol). And then sports--just split it into sports stay at the "old" school and academics the "new" school...lol.

I know, it won't work, but I think it's ridiculous that we have overcrowding because of petty issues like this.

I never sell any of the wrapping paper or knick knack junk Gabby brings home from school.Every kid in the neighbor sells it so who am I supposed to ask other than relatives who do not want it at all.I guess I could have gone to busineses to sell my $45 worth of ads,but it was just easier to write the check ourselves. Some of her friends did sell to businesses, but I would not even know nwhere to start.Plus Dale said his company would not buy space,so we got 3/4 of a page for our $45.At least with girl scot cookies people do want them

Adrianne here on the board is from New Orleans (but she doesn't live there anymore).

My BIL's family is from Slidell (and some still live there) and my husband's stepmom's family has/have lived in Slidell.

Slidell was hit VERY hard (probably harder than New Orleans minus the levee breaking) in Katrina. But, like Gulfport & Biloxi, you didn't hear about it on the news because it wasn't the 9th Ward.

I was surprised Gab's dance teacher came. She and the director are kind of like 'rivals"Although the director is really an awesome tap dancer she played Anytime Annie in 42nd street on Broadway. She was also in the movies A chorus line and Tap.Gabby's teacher got he a flower and a balloon, which was really sweet of her.

yes, they were presenters of a life cycles of salmon activity to use in your classroom.

The NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) conference was in New Orleans last week, so I was able to attend.
