We usually have teachers picketing at the capitol each spring. Since I'm in a non-union professional group, they don't make us go, which is why (as I just stated) I joined this group.
A couple parishes near us (but so far, not ours) have had to shut down school several times in the past few years because too many teachers went picket. Which meant the students' school years had to be extended.
One year, I had a student ask why I wasn't picketing at the capitol. I told him, "I care more about your education than more pay." He told me he wished I had gone picket since a nearby school system had shut down and he wished our school had shut down--I said do you realize that their summer vacation is going to be cut short because the teachers did that??
And then, it's all over the news, and some moron wrote to OUR newspaper that she/he can't believe that the teachers of our parish picketed. Um, that never happened. But it's just like those people on the Internet that reply about stuff and they don't even have a clue as to what they are talking about. Our schools have never been shut down due to teachers picketing since Aly was born and I started daycaring kids.
Yes it was the school play so athough I loved it and Gab had a blast doing ot I am glad it is only one weekend. It is nice being in bed by 9.Last week we were up until after 11 every night. Then Friday and Saturday they were out until midnight at cast parties.Since they are 7th and 8th graders we were also up.
Its an indoor playplace, smaller than chuckie cheese and stuff. You pay a flat fee, $3 for 2 and under and they can play for as long as they want. But the nice thing is they have a coffee bar and you can get sandwiches and snacks for the kids and stuff.
Since DH has been so busy lately and hasn't been able to take Emma to play on Sunday mornings, thus eliminating Jordyn and I's sunday morning starbucks, we have started going there.
Gabby had a great time.I thought 11:30 was a good end time.Even earlier han I was willing to pick her up.I was going to pick her up no later than midnight, but 11:30 was perfect.Nice parents.I would not be up for a cast party at my house.

oh no!!!! poor Emma!
What exactly is Java Jungle? Is it an indoor playground? What is the Java part?
We have a place similar called Monkey Bizz, huge indoor playground with arcade, kiddie rides, and party areas. Aly had 1 party there.
I think it's time for Zoe to go to bed.
She is flipping markers around, purposely making them land near or on the dogs.
She keeps getting in their faces singing Hannah Montana songs.
Now she insisted on taking the one that was laying against my leg.
OMG!!!
Dh called to tell me he was on his way.
I asked if he could pick up some milk on his way home.
He flipped out on me.

Sort of "the best of both worlds" LOL
Alright, DH made me register all the stupid new power tools he bought today.
I am going to go in the bath now and have some ice cream.
I might check back later. If not, have a great night ladies.
