Today, he had fever and his mom didn't come get him. The office didn't know he had fever (I touched his arm when talking to him, and he was burning up), but he cries wolf so often that she told him to tough it out
He told the office staff that his stomach was hurting, but didn't mention the fever (does a 7th grader really know if he has fever or not?). I sent him back to the office with the para that was in my room at the time (I didn't think he was going to make it there, and I'm close to the office). He comes back and the para told me they said his mom said to tough it out. Well, I took it as the final word, and didn't challenge it, but wondered why they let him stay with fever. Well, they didn't know that, and after school said I should've sent him back saying I thought he had fever (they could test it in the office). Oh well--I just didn't want to step on toes since I was already told he had to stay.
They are an ancient Chinese math puzzle. There are 7 (I think?) shapes and you can move them around to make different things. I've done a make-your-own-tangrams activity in classes previously (not since I've taught science).

HAPPY SPRING
Well I am getting ready to leave for the day.
Jordyn texted me from school, the coach told them wrong, no tennis match today, tomorrow instead.
She's all excited, she made it into the finals of the tanagrams tournament at school.

Tangrams are really cool.
