We stopped at ToysRUs this morning and Kristen used her g/c she got for her birthday to buy the new Harry Potter book. I read the first two chapters out loud and was bugging her to read and she didn't want to do it out loud so claimed she would read silently. I said fine, I'll catch up but she hates when I read ahead. She claimed she was only going to read a couple of pages but ..... 45 min later she's still at it. LOL Once she tuckers out I'll catch up with her. I refuse to drag this thing out for a week, I NEED to know what happens. :-)

I bought #1-5 through Scholastic in a set for $21.95 (all softcover). Then, my SIL picked up #6 when the grocery store where she worked was going out of business and it was LESS THAN $2--hardcover. Then, I accidentally got sent 2 extra #6s in paperback when I placed a classroom order through Scholastic--they told me to keep them, no charge--I ended up donating both to MY school's library (should've donated one to Aly's school library).

Aly's also mid-way through #2, but she's also reading The Ghost's Grave by Peg Kehret (which is on the Louisiana Young Reader's Choice Award ballot for next year) and Nikki--the 2007 American Girl book. How she can do that, I have no clue!

when hannah was in the 4th/5th grade she use to read 2 books at once. It would drive me crazy. She doesn't do that anymore.

Nik does the same thing & it drives me crazy. How they can keep all the characters straight i don't know. One book at a time for me is just fine. Dee

I read the epilogue as soon as my daughter got the book just to prepare myself for anything she needed to discuss. I've actually only read the first 3 books, but have seen all 5 movies and DD explained the 6th book to me, so I am familiar with the story and the ending made good sense.

Abigail just finished the book. We bought it yesterday afternoon and she read for a while, but I wouldn't allow her to take it to a slumber party, so she didn't pick it up again until after church this morning. She refused to do anything else until we dragged her out to a movie, then read non-stop until she finished.

I often read two books at once. LOL I'm doing it know with Harry Potter and another book. I sometimes keep one by my bed that I read at night and one downstairs that I read there. Never had a problem keeping them straight. LOL

I've always got two or three books going at the same time! I'm not sure why I do it, but I do.
