Facebook question for those who know...

A high school friend found me and I "added" her, looked over her friends list, and there are people there I don't WANT to find me.

If you choose "ignore", does it tell that person you have chosen to ignore them? Or does it just seem like you never got the message?

It won't send a message that says "alygator IGNORED pesties invitation to be friends" or anything like that.

It's just like nothing happened.

Of course, if someone tries to friend you and no reply comes within a day or so....the subtle message is probably given either way.

They'll never know you didn't accept their request, at least not openly. They will sort of know, though, if they remember they sent it.

What I have done is limit the friends from HS from seeing much of me. You can make groups of friends and then limit what some groups see, so I have my HS friends all together in a group and they, for example, don't see my status updates and I don't have to see theirs unless I choose to.

If you need me to elaborate, I can, but the way you limit seeing them is putting them into a group and then ordering your groups by priority over to the left. The way you limit who sees your stuff is to go into "privacy settings" up top, then you go "profile" and you can specifically exclude entire groups from seeing stuff.

hi nancy
now i did not know you can do that. guess you do learn something everyday. I dont want anyone to find me, Im afraid that they will through other users. but thats one reason why my name is not there. I do know someone is looking for me though. YUCK... You will have to add me to your fb account........lol

Well, they still will find you, if they figure out who you are, so I'm not certain this will help with not being found! I do think you can go into privacy and limit who can see your friend list though, I believe you can set it to "only friends", so that may help.

What my advice does is limit what your friends see of YOU, and what you see of your friends.

I'd love to add you! But if you don't want to be found, lol, how do I find you?

Thank you all so much!!! You rock!!

Nancy, I might need more help on those great details that you gave.

If you request me once you become friends with Deanna (I'm on hers, you'll notice my first name), I'll be glad to not ignore you!!!

Nancy you should be able to find several of us through Deanna's page. Most of us are easier to find than Deanna.

eww, that is interesting, I didn't know you could do that either. Good to know. I had also been wondering the "ignore" question also, I have 3 or 4 people sitting in my friends request because I don't really want to add them, but I didn't want to look super rude.

Thanks.

There are more than 1 Michelles on her list, so help me out here, or go find me, I'm on hers now too, I think it should be obvious.
