DYK Thread for February

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

$650 is less than half of what they charge in this district.

our high schools have sports that I have no clue how they do them...lol.

Swimming--we don't have any public pools or a Y here. I do know one school, the one my nephew went to, practiced at someone's house.

Bowling--we don't have a bowling alley.

They also have golf and several other sports that my high school never had. We had football, boys & girls basketball, baseball, girls softball, and track.

the high school I attended had swimming when my mom was in high school. They used the public pool. The public pool was open until I entered 9th grade. But they didn't have swimming anymore.

My mom was a majorette/baton twirler in high school and they didn't have that when I entered either. She twirled fire.

Here for cheerleading you have:

1 skirt
2 tops (long sleeve & short sleeve)
gym suit
shoes
socks, bows, etc.
choreographer fee
camp fees
bag
megaphone
pom poms

And I'm sure there are other things, those are just the ones I know of right now. I'm not that interested since Aly isn't. When I was student-teaching was when I first saw the numbers and my jaw hit the floor!!!

camp & choreographer fee are a big chunk of ours.

But our girls don't rent the uniforms, they buy them. And they get 1 skirt, 2 tops, and whole warm-up suit.
