DYK Thread for February

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

The Tylenol in the cabinet was old, so I went to flush it and Mike said not to flush it because he saw a news report that traces of meds are turning up in water supply.

Are they really recycling sewer water into drinking water???

I think they actually have to buy warm ups, but I am not sure. They didn't really talk to us parents much at all and just gave us the $ that it cost this year and mentioned that they rent the uniforms. So we'll see. I am still hoping in the end she picks tennis over cheerleading.

Apparently Jordyn got random drug tested at school today. She said she had to drink 5 glasses of water and still could barely go for them.

I can't imagine it would come up positive, but she has a note on file anyways because she uses a steriod cream for her eczema. Apparently they also tested her BFF who is in orchestra and someone from choir. She was confused as to why orchestra and choir people have to submit to random drug testing. I don't have an answer for her.

Jordyn's play was very good, although its hard to tell for sure watching through a video lense the whole time. I'll like it better tomorrow night when I'm not taping it.

DH didn't make it. he got there 10 minutes before the end of Jordyn's play and they wouldn't let anyone in who was late. I guess he'll just have to watch the video, but I doubt he will.

Then after I went and picked up Emma and went back to get Jordyn I locked my keys in my car. I didn't know I did though and spent forever looking around the theater thinking I dropped them while I was chasing Emma around waiting for the critiques to finish so Jordyn could leave.

The bad news for buying uniforms is that the girls grow every year in 6th-8th grade, so that's a new uniform every year. The moms of the cheerleaders try to sell the previous year's uniforms to other girls who are smaller than their girls. I don't know how often they change the uniform style.

I know one of our principals (not the one we have this year) would not approve strappy ones because someone mentioned at a basketball game that the other team had on those and he would never approve those.

The ones our girls have are just sleeveless (well, not the long sleeves obviously).

they can do random drug testing on kids? Not that *I* would have a problem with it as a parent, I'm just wondering because I've never heard of such a thing.

Did you have to give permission for this?

Sorry about locking your keys in the car. How did you get the car open?
