DYK Thread for February

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

I am so going to need a drink by the time I get to the party.

The girls have been arguing all day.

Dh was supposed to get off at 2:00, it's 2:45 and he's still at work.

So at least 30 minutes to get home, then 30 minutes to shower and get ready to go.

We'll be lucky to leave by 4:00.

It takes an hour and half to get to mil's, then another 30 minutes to get to my aunt's.

The party starts at 5:00.

I'm sorry, but we'll be dropping the dogs at mil's and leaving, we're not sitting around visiting!

Daisy and her friends are already talking and planning about next year's 8th grade dance, which apparently is formal. Daisy already has her "back up" date with her friend Peter if no one asks her to the dance. Also she wants and orange prom dress. Orange????

I am anticipating that battle coming.

I know she would much rather wear a t-shirt and tennis shoes.

But she has to understand this is a special evening for her godmother, and she needs to dress appropriately.

I'm just worried that we are headed toward her not listening to me one of these days.

Right now she does what I ask but complains.

It's so weird to me because I was such a girly girl.

I always wore skirts and cute shoes and particular outfits.

In fact, Gabby reminds me of me when Laura talks about her!

That would drive me nuts!

The classes I subbed in this week kept wanting me to turn the lights off for everything.

The only time I turned them all off was for the movie.

For the overhead stuff I would only turn off half of them.

I didn't think formal dances started until high school, at least they didn't when I was in middle school.

As someone who hates dressing up (and especially hates wearing dresses~!), I totally understand how Jackie feels....but I eventually had to learn that you simply must dress up for certain occasions.

Too bad I don't recall what my mom (or dad) did to get me to realize this....I'd share it with you!
