Oh my gosh! At least you took the opportunity to make it a special event. You could always move to Arizona with me, it's sunny and the power never goes out! LOL! Welcome back!
YEAH Shana, you're back. That really must have dinged you guys hard. I can't imagine being without the internet that long. LOL Call me weak. Glad to "see" you again.
I had to go to Dec. yesterday to the doctor and stopped by Target. It is amazing how much worse it is there than in our town such a short distance away. The warmup helped us that melted the ice. There are so many stoplights still out on Rt. 51-the walmart intersection was a mess at 5:30 last night. Last night, my DH talked to some guardsmen that were headed to Dec. overnight saying they were afraid of misbehavior might start since some people have been without power for so long. We were suppose to have a ballgame at W-L but it was cancelled last night.
It's funny, I live near Peoria which is not to far from Shana and Laura and we got sleet and then about 10 inches of snow! I don't think power was out for anyone, but our roads are still awful! The main ones are fine, but as soon as you turn off one, it is bad. School is STILL off for the public schools and even the private schools! (that's 3 days!).
I am east of Laura/Shana and we got the ice/power outage (although ours only last 6 hours) but you can truly visible see when you are driving the line between the thawing and not. Their area is a mess!
we have friends in Olympia school district-I saw that they still did not have school yesterday.

Yep, that's what I heard too.

I would love to come to Arizona.
What's so funny is we live in the same small town and your side got hit and ours didn't lose power or internet or anything!
I know in our newer subdivision they bury the phone & power lines, so I think that is part of what helps!

I'll take snow over ice any day.
