Ok - at what age do you find your children consistently flushing toilets?

I have a 10.5 yo dd ----- and she often does not flush - is that weird ----- or par for the course?!

I was just nagging my almost 12 yo ds about this today. I really don't think it's an age thing, just a personality thing. Some people go thru their entire lives oblivious to stuff like this.

DD (13) has never had a problem with that, but DS (11) CONSTANTLY has to be reminded to flush.

I always thought it would be great to have one of those automatic flushing toilets like they do in public bathrooms. Seriously, the one who was more forgetful would be the older teen DD. My 13 yo DS usually remembers.

And here I thought I was the only one with this problem!! My kids are horrible about flushing toilets (All 4 of them!). I have no idea what's wrong with them that they can't reach 6 inches and push a lever. . .

Every time they go to the bathroom, I yell: "Flush the toilet and wash your hands with soap!" I need a recording that goes off when they open the bathroom door! LOL!

Not only that, but the 2 boys leave the seat up consistently. They learned that from my DH, who is horrible about that! He has 3 sisters, and to this day I cannot believe he didn't learn to put a freaking toilet seat down, but our sons have taken after him (ugh!). . . At least DH flushes!!

I could have posted this WORD for WORD! Except DH doesn't have sisters, he has brothers. His mom doesn't flush either. She's annoying. She's using our guest bathroom while she's here

Eewwww about your MIL!! You shouldn't have to deal with that!

One time when I was like 8 months pregnant I got up in the night to pee, and DH had left the toilet seat up and I fell in (It was dark because I didn't turn the lights on). My screams of outrage could be heard from miles away. He came running, and I had some choice words to say to him. It still didn't cure him. I have threatened to bolt the seat to the toilet, LOL.

Like I said, at least he flushes!

My daughter flushes, but she never closes the door when she's using the bathroom. I'm forever walking past and seeing her just casually sitting there with a magazine. I don't know how she got so relaxed about it -- I even close the door when I'm at home by myself!

In my MIL case she does not flush all the time becasue of saving water. However a my house she will go 8 times in an hour and she has no problem flushing. My dh is petty bad about flushing too.Plus I don't think he knows how to put tp on the roll or take the empty rool off, maybe he thinks he needs a key;-)He will actually leave the tp on the sink for me to put on the roll.
