Pretty good. Went on the field trip with him and it really seemed to change his attitude. He was very very nasty and hostile acting toward me. He told me that he was glad I went and has been very nice since. May be in need of more Mom time. He got up early this morning and showered before I was even out of bed!! I had to take DH to work and left them here to get ready for school. They were all ready when I got back except Brooke had to brush her hair. No fighting AND they cleaned up their breakfast bowls and everything! Wow!

He's mowing IL's yard this year to make some money and is doing a great job so far. I think he likes having a "job".

chelly had a good week, she has been learning about vertabrate animals. last week's focus was on cold blooded and this week's focus was on warmblooded. for her research project for the week she had to read a book on any warm blooded vertabrate and then create a poster giving info on that animal. she chose the jack russle terrier, because that is what her dog is. she really enjoyed reading about the breed and created a cute poster from photos of her and her dog. one very interesting thing that happened with her this week was that she found a snake - accidently. she was in our backyard, reached up into a low hanging tree to pull a leaf off when she saw a snake just inches from her face !! she ran inside, screaming, for us to come see. sure enough, there was a gray rat snake in our tree. my boys disentangled it and decided it should become domesticated. the snake, however, had other ideas. they put it in an aquarium OUTSIDE and came in the house for lunch. when they went back out the snake was gone ! there's no telling what may happen around here next !

Since standardized tests started this week, I think it's been rather torturous. Thankfully, it's not me having to take them. Stephen seems fine with it and says they've seemed easy. (Not always a good indication, but I'm hopeful that he's doing ok.) They test for 8 days, so he has 3 more days to go next week. A lot of it is open response, and I can't imagine anything worse than writing about math, but that's the way they do it! (And I always liked math--but writing, no thank you.)

I took him yesterday for his 2nd shot in the hepatitis series. They are required for middle school, but weren't required when he was born. By the time DD was born, they started the series in the hospital nursery. He sat there and watched the whole time while she gave it to him. I tried to suggest to him that he might have a future in the medical field, but he's not really interested. But if he can watch that while they're doing it to him, I figure he wouldn't be too queasy. LOL!

We have a baseball game this afternoon if we don't get rained out. They haven't won a game yet, despite having a very talented team. Too many egos going on and not enough team spirit, if you ask me. I hope they learn a lesson this season!
