It's been very wet here - the wettest 24 hours since records began was earlier this week. This has disrupted travel. On Saturday we are going to a Book Festival to hear a writer who DD and her BFF like. I think BFF's mum is coming too which will be nice. It's a train journey away sohpefully the line isn't flooded. DD may be going on a sleepover but may not go in the end!

Finally feeling like I'm catching up on things around the house! Need to get the laundry room under control next week but at least the main level and bathrooms ar under control! It's amazing what you can accomplish without kids around demanding attention, taxi service, and fighting with one another. I've spent the last two days mucking out Evan's room. Took breaks to help out at church and watch a tv show or two. I am probably enabling him but the task was overwhelming for me, I can only imagine what it looked like to him. He starts high school four days after he gets back from my parents next week and our high school is notoriously tough, one of the best public high schools in the country and I want him to start the year feeling secure and organized. I want his surroundings to be calm and peaceful so he can concentrate on school. What he doesn't know yet is that I'm going to be a whole lot tougher about how he keeps his room.

Accidentally posted before I put in this weekend's agenda.

Today. Finishing up Evan's room and some related laundry this morning. This afternoon we're headed to my parents to pick up Megan at horse camp and see the end of camp show. Megan has a riding lesson at the new stable tomorrow morning and we're taking my grandfather to dinner tomorrow evening. After dinner we'll probably come home and I fully intend to take the Sabbath concept seriously on Sunday. I need a break from physical labor and housework and I need to spend time with my family. Evan will stay with my parents for another week because his sailing camp ends next Thursday.

DS wanted to go golfing this morning, and boy, it is amazing what that kid can accomplish when he wants to go play 9 holes of golf!

Thanks Tracy! I hope you have a good weekend too!!!
Today, I am on pins and needles waiting for DD19 to call me and tell me if she's made the college volleyball team. I'm also getting my hair cut at lunch. Work is slow, so I'm not sure what I'll do to keep myself busy this afternoon.
Tomorrow, I'm taking DD10 ot get her hair cut and then we will run some errands. DH and I are hoping that the rain holds off so that the landscaper can keep working on the retainer wall. It' rained super hard yesterday so the yard is a mud hole!! :0) We need to get this done first so we can finish getting all of DH's junk out of the girls' Gma's yard before the snow flys. (I know it's crazy to talk about snow already, but our leaves are starting to change!!!) Otherwise, I'm going to keep plugging away on getting things organized. My goal is Thanksgiving. DH doesn't think we'll make it, but he's not one to organize either.

I'm telling the world!!!

.WOOHOO!!! She made the team!!!! She is red shirt status which means that she can not play in the games, but this is not a bad thing. This means that as a Freshman, she will still have four year of eleigibility after this. And the coach could pull her up if he needs her anytime. DD19 was explaining that only 11 players can travel per NCAA divII rules anyway, so this gives her an extra year to play. She's so excited!! and DH and I are so very proud of her!!!! These times are life lessons that I hope will stick with her for her lifetime!!! Time to celebrate tonight!!!!
