Friday/Weekend Chit Chat Thread

Relatively quiet weekend here. Both kids have practice tonight and that's all for today. Tomorrow they have practices in the morning and the afternoon is free. Sunday Evan has a Scout activity and Megan wants to go to the movies with friends. We're supposed to have a make up piano lesson too. We'll have to get that figured out. I want to send the message that piano comes first but she's had zero social time lately and I already had it out with her this morning about not going to the school variety (aka talent) show tonight because of swim practice and she really does not enjoy piano at all. I sort of feel like A) she deserves a break B) I have to tread carefully with piano because she's already doing it aginst her will and she's been pretty good about practicing without a fight this week and C) I need to show her I can be reasonable and start to repair some of the damage that's been done to our relationship lately. I know I'm the parent and I call the shots. I know I'm not her friend, I'm her mom. I just feel like there have been a whole lot of withdrawals from our relationship bank account and it's time to make a deposit... Tell me if I'm being a softy.... Have a great weekend everyone!
