Thanks Heather. I need to talk to DH this week about it, I am becoming more and more convinced I want to do it. I had Jordyn check her schedule at the gym, and she would have to turn down on tumble camp to work, so 3 8 hour days, but she could still work extra hours the following week to add to her paycheck, and I think it would be good for her too. So we'll see what DH's thoughts are on the the trip.

I am really late here.  Kids had a half day and Tim surprised me by coming home for lunch.  Hate it when he does that, I wish he'd have a weekly routine.  I like routine.  I don't like surprises like that. He left even before the kids got home cause he had some errands to run before getting back to work.  They got home and I took them to lunch.  Probably shouldn't have but I did.  Natalie came home in a mood and ended up in her room but after she came down she was better.  She just needed some alone time.  LOL  I made spaghetti for dinner and then Tim went to the coffee shop to support a friend singing tonight.

Saturday Katie and i plan to see how much it cost to get something engraved and then we will finish painting her room.  Nat will complain that hers isn't finished.  We will work on Matthew's birthday cake too.  I also need to make some cornbread for the dressing I am making to bring to Ohio.

Sunday, no idea.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a happy Friday and have something fun/relaxing planned for the weekend.

It was a pretty hectic day at school. We are all feeling pretty frazzled over our problem student. I did get to cover for our classroom teacher for awhile during the morning. In the afternoon, we had a party and the teacher's husband (who is the HS basketball coach) came in with some of his players to do a basketball clinic with our class.

Ian had a half day of school because of parent teacher conferences.  He and Dh left late afternoon for a scout camping weekend.

Kayleigh had a regular school day.  Tonight, she is going to the movies and out for pizza with her BFF, and I'll be home having dinner, wine, tv.

Tomorrow during the morning, I plan to clean, the read/craft in the afternoon.  Kayleigh will do some chores and homework, and in the evening, she's babysitting for one of her teachers (well, for his son) so I'll have another evening to myself at home, yay.

Sunday, I have plans to meet a friend for breakfast, then do laundry and hang at home for the day.

Monday, the kids and I have off. In the morning, I have to bring Ian to the orthodontist and then we'll probably go to Kohls, he needs some cold weather outerwear of some sort.  Then in the afternoon, I have to bring my car in for service. I'll wait while they work on it and get plenty of reading done!

I am sure she'll be fine and have a great time Cheryl!! But I completely understand about the planning thing. There are 2 things that i need to figure out if we can do the drive to Michigan, 1, if Jordyn is working at all that week, or at least if she can get out of the few days she would work because I know she'll work the entire week of New Year's, so she wouldn't miss much work at all, and 2, football playoffs. Her school is undefeated right now and playoffs start next week, but the state championships are Dec. 22, granted I think they are at Cowboy stadium in Dallas, so we could leave straight from there if we needed, but those are the 2 big factors. I'm just in a weird place mentally right now, I miss my family tremendously at the holidays, DH is a complete scrooge about the whole "ordeal" that is the holidays, and spending 5 straight days at home, alone with the kids, just doesn't sound like a fun holiday to me. We could easily celebrate christmas as a family (since DH wouldn't be able to make the trip) the Sunday after CHristmas. We would be back by then and DSS would just be arriving in town for his week long christmas/birthday visit. I'll have to talk to DH about it, but I am really wanting to make it happen.

I really wish Kristen would give me a clue as to when she wants to (if she needs to) be picked up for break.

I maquested the trip if I got her next Friday- and it would be an obnoxious long car trip.  But the trip from here- to Hot Springs to hear Chamber play, to Lynchburg and dropping off the other kid before coming here is doable.  Since the kids aren't even playing until 2:15.

Of course that's not on her mind right now.  What's on her mind is the "crush".  Since she also had that job for a week that gave her $300, and she really didn't ask for anything much for graduation, she's going with the Anime club at school to DC today.  Comic-Con (is that what it's called) is up there this weekend and there's a group of 20 kids from school going.  She's paid for the whole trip herself, asked for nothing from us, just an "it's ok if you go".  She said she got all of her work finished, she's not leaving until 3 so she misses no classes.  What can I do?

There's a "boy" room and a "girl" room.  And one of the ladies in my small group said that when she was in school- she'd go to these things.  The guys in these groups are kind of nerdy, and they're not going to try anything.  BUT- I think one of the kids going is the one that posts all over her facebook wall- and she just considers a "friend".

We managed to convince her to take the credit card with her.  I think she was worried that she'd forget it.  I didn't want a panic call from DC saying that she'd gotten separated from everyone and she has no way to get back to campus.  This way she's got a card with a credit limit that's enough so she could get a bus back to school.

Tracy- go ahead and do it!

Especially if you've got the time!

Think about this- next year at this time Jordyn will be in college and you might not have the ability to go to Michigan.

That sounds like a great spur of the moment trip for Z Heather!! I hope he has a great time! I was just texted my brother, I had a thought last night about maybe driving up to Michigan for the week of christmas, maybe I am completely crazy to think about doing it, but it'd be so nice to spend the holidays with family...

I just got the call that DH and Z arrived in AZ safely.  DH was scheuduled to visit the ILs and just last night spur of the moment we decided if there were seats left, Z coudl go with.  He's only flown once as an infant and was a bit stressed about airport security, but DH said it all went smoothly.  He got a window seat-no easy feat on the first business flight of the day.   They were hungry and tired when I talked to them.  I hope they have a fun weekend.  I emailed DH a list of sight seeing that links they would both enjoy-maybe the ILs too.  I hope the ILs understand that Zeph does not just want to sit and chat.

As for me, I am going to finish a book, Gone Girl,  and do all sorts of cleaning.  I'm hoping to  spend a  great deal of time looking over local district websites and seeing what a typical college bound track looks like so I can loosely plan high school years and 8th grade.   There are also grocery lists and shopping to do.

That reminds me, the lawn really needs to be mowed. It hasn't been in probably 5 weeks. We have a new lawnmower that I am unsure how to operate. I guess I may need to figure that out this weekend also. Too much crap to do, not enough time...
