Well, I have not even started to pack for our trip yet.  sigh.  This week just has been so busy, and I was up til almost midnight doing DH's invoicing so he could proof them and send back revisions so I could get them in the mail before we leave.  I have a huge to do list for today alone, packing suitcases, packing the car, need to upload photos to walmart to get my holiday cards done tonight to mail tomorrow also. I need to swing by the store and pick up some snack for the car ride.  Luckily we are done with court this week, so I can take a lunch break to run errands.  Jordyn's high school football team made the state championships.  Jordyn has to be at the school at 10:30 today, they are sending the football team off at 11:45, then doing all the run thru signs for the game tomorrow, then leaving for Dallas at 3:00.  Her boyfriend is driving her to the school this morning, I didn't want her leaving her car at the school for the entire week we are gone, and i had no way to get it back to the house before we leave tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Emma and I are leaving around 8:30 to get to Dallas for the noon game.  As soon as the game is over all three of us are leaving straight to Michigan.  I will drive us through Dallas and then I'll have Jordyn drive for a few hours before it gets too dark, hoping to stop for dinner and watch part of the Detroit Lions game, I'll have to find us a Chili's or Applebees or something, and then we'll keep driving.  Hoping we don't hit too much weather, but i'll have to check the forecast tonight for the weekend.

Sunday, more driving.  My goal is to make it to my parents house by 5.  My mom gets home from work around 6:30 and I want to have unpacked, parked the car down the road and full on surprise her!  DH and Madison will meet us down at their house once we get close to town, and my brother is driving over from his house just for dinner that night before returning for an extended stay on Monday.

I will be in Michigan running back and forth between relatives houses all week next week, driving back to Texas Friday afternoon.  So I likely won't be online much at all.  Feel free to start new daily threads or do one weekly one, whatever everyone feels like.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, enjoys their relatives and family as much as possible and that everyone just relaxes!!

I think winter did finally find us here in north Alabama.  It's freezing outside.  Got my kiddos out the door and off to school. The high school traffic was a madhouse.  After getting away from the school I went and picked up a coffee from Starbucks.

*****Moment of silence for the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary******

Hmmm...... Where do we go from here?  I pray nothing like this happens again.

I took the long way home from Starbucks to miss all the going to school traffice.  It's bad now that the weather is changing.  I am going to be making some peppermint bark in a few minutes.  Dishes are done already.  I need to washa few things and get the floors cleaned.  There is some clutter I need to take care of.  Get ready for major clutter Christmas morning.  Today is the kids last day of school this year.  It's just a half day so I am picking the girls up and then running over to pick up Matthew.  He wants to go visit a comic book store.  Hoping we can come home and have lunch first, but I am sure he's gonna want to run right over there when he gets out.  Last night the left side of my jaw started bothering me.  Yawning hurt and doing certain things are bothering it as well.   I hope I don't need to see anyone for it and it will get better over the next few days.

Dinner tonight I guess will be Papa Murphys pizza.  Tim wants to watch the movie 2012.  LOL

Saturday I guess we might rent a movie Nat's been wanting to see.  I have a ladies night out tomorrow night with some friends.

Sunday, hmm...... not sure.  I think we talked about driving around to look at the lights in the neighborhoods nearby.

Ugh, wondering what I got myself into.  I thought I'd be polite and offer to do "certificates of completion" for all the cheerleaders for the banquet on Jan. 12.  No big deal, another mother offered to help also, so we just got an email from the president of the booster club saying we should go ahead and work together, they'd get us sample language and the list of 40 girls and 1 manager for names, but also (and here's the kicker), have us watch the craft stores for when frames go on sale to put all the certificates in frames.  Umm, ugh!!  So I guess I'll have to check out and see how much simple frames costs, I'm sure not much, but still.  I wonder if they have a budget for that or if that's just our "contribition" on top of the outrageous amount we've already spent this year. sigh...

The dollar stores have decent certificate frames too.

Ugh, I've managed to catch a cold. Thanks, kids at school!

Of course, it was a crazy day at work yesterday, with the holiday sing along, class party, etc.  After work, Kayleigh met me and we did the big holiday food shopping.  We trimmed the tree last night.

Today, cleaning in the morning, then a run to Shoprite for the stuff I could not get in Walmart. Our friends are dropping off their turtles, who we'll be babysitting while they are on a cruise. This afternoon, baking.

Tomorrow, finish up the cleaning. The inlaws will arrive in time for dinner. Heaven help me.

I worked around the house from before sunup to after sundown.   I am pleased with the progress.  Last night we watched Miracle On 34th Street in black and white.  Neither Zeph or DH had ever seen it.  Today is more of the same plus grocery shopping.  My parents and grandma are coming tomorrow to celebrate the holidays. My ice cream maker is broken and I am frustrated since I wanted to make homemade ice ceam as aprt of dessert, but it's not gonna happen.  Company dinner will be apple brined pork chops, baked potatoes, rolls, and a spinich/cranberry/walnut/goat cheese salad.  Dessert is chocolate cherry bread pudding.  I've got one more gift to wrap.  DH has to go out tonight and dog proof the fence. There is a gap in the fencing on the back side of the hot tub and I'm worried that they'll see some critter and jump off after it.  He bought orange snow fence and it is going to be an eyesore, but will work until spring when we can figure out a permanent solution.  Off to get to work!

Hmm... I did put in our Saturday and Sunday but it disappeared.  So I will tell you again.  It helps keep me organized to type it out.  We are doing some cleaning, washing clothes, towels and things like that today.  Kids will clean thier rooms and bathroom.  Hopefully we will get some baking done today and tomorrow.  Tonight I am going out with friends for a few hours.  A moms night out.  Good food, some laughing and some shopping.  I love my friends but we hardly get to see each other anymore.

Sunday, well.....as of right now I think we will just go look at the lights in the neighbors nearby besides our own.

This has been kind of a crazy weekend.  My mom called me late on Tuesday night to tell me that my aunt (my dad's sister) passed away.  I had finals on Wednesday and Friday, DH's mother arrived on Wednesday evening, and I've been running myself ragged trying to get everything done...DS and I left on Friday afternoon after my final, stopped in Minneapolis to pick up the (hopefully repaired) Mini, and got to my parents' house about 7:30 Friday night.  The funeral was on Saturday morning, DS and I stayed at my parents' last night, and headed back home this morning.  We stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home and I think I am done with my shopping now.  I just have to make sure I have everything for the kids' stockings and something for The Beagle and Crazydog.  Crazydog, I guess, was very anxious the whole time I was out of town.  DH and MIL said that Crazydog whined and cried all day Friday, all day yesterday and all day today.  He would not settle down even when I got home, so I put his Thundershirt on him; he is finally asleep and snoring next to  me on the couch.  We are now waiting for DD to get done with work and we are all going out to dinner tonight.
