Hi, all.  Checking in late.  Our town had its annual Timber Days celebration this weekend.  It started Friday and ended today.  DS's class sponsored a bouncy castle for the little kids, so he did a shift there on Friday morning, then he worked noon to 8:00 Friday at the resort.  DD worked all day Friday and all day Saturday at Subway, then spent the evenings with friends.  We had a birthday party for DS (he's 16!!) and his friends Friday night and got to meet his new GF.  Today was church.  Otherwise, my whole weekend was spent working the Boy Scout booth at Timber Days.  Oh, and baking.  I made a chocolate layer cake for DS's party when I got home from town on Friday afternoon.  I layered it with dark chocolate ganache and frosted it with chocolate buttercream.  The kids only ate half of it Friday night and DH and I have been enjoying it since.  Both kids left this morning for a LYO retreat and will be back this coming Friday.  It is going to be very quiet around here this week!

This weekend we are going to another DoorsOpen - where you get to tour local heritage homes. A few weeks ago we went to the one in Whitby, and tomorrow it's happening in Clarington. And it's all free.

We live in a home built around 1850, and I have been researching the history, trying to figure out who built the house. (No luck so far) So touring these other homes is fascinating for me.

Last time I went in a house where they had sanded down and finished the old farm board floor - and I realized I could pull up all that old carpet in our bedrooms and do the same! When I saw those rough old boards under the carpet, I thought there was nothing I could do. Now to just find the money to do it!

Feeling the effects of Andrea here.  Not too bad, just a whole lot of rain.  Might get wind later.  I should go grocery shopping, but walking back and forth with groceries in the pouring rain is not my idea of a fun time.

Becca did NOT get her 180 day temp licence yesterday.  Sigh.  There was paperwork that I didn't sign.  So now she has to wait until Monday am to get it.  She could drive to school Tues-Thursday and leave the van in the area that the sophomores have taken over (not exactly legal but they're not enforcing the rules.  Yet.  And i don't think they will be enforced the last week of school)The kid across the street has a strange schedule next week.  Weds he doesn't have to be at school until 1 and if it's like Kristen- he won't have to go at all on Thursday, the last day of school for underclassmen. That is of course- if I let her, I am just so tired of the snarky attitude this kid has.  Sigh. Kristen's attitude was a breeze compared to this one.  And we haven't even started the college thing yet- she wants to go to a school that costs 60K a year for a performance degree- I can't justify her spending that much money for something that I don't even know if she's good enough for.  SIGH.

Sat Becca has a rehersal for her viola recital Sunday.  It's with her current teacher, and she won't be there for much longer since Govenor's school has lessons right there.  We also have a graduation party to go to Sunday.  Told my neighbor we'd be there sometime.

Heather, that sounds like you had a lot of fun!  And congrats to Zeph for making it as far as he did.  Glad he decided to sign up for next year too.

Good morning.   DH went out and got donuts for breakfast.  We did a math lesson (really, from a book) on donuts, torus and euclidean vs non euclidean geometry.   Best math lesson ever!   DH si catching up on some work stuff.  Zeph is building. He managed to get his chores done and have his hour on the computer before DH was even up! I am about to start some school with him.

I was going to go grocery shopping this morning, but the sun is shining so I think we are off to Home Depot to get garden fencing and finally keep the pups out of the dirt!   We also have a nest of cottontails in the yard that is now protected by a laundry basket that we will need to remove each night for momma to come and nurse.  Sadly the pups got to one of the babies and were using it as a ball.   I have a ton of yard stuff to do and this is our last weekend to do it before DH is on a long trip and MIL comes to visit.

Later this weekend, Zeph volunteers at a Fermi Lab event.  My mom is coming to go to hear a reencactor of John Phillip Sousa one afternoon also.  She'll stay for dinner too.  Off to work!

Today is my normal day off.  Kids are still sleeping.  Only cause I am allowing it.  I wanted a quiet morning and to be alone. I like my alone time.  I am about to wake them up though.  We will be cleaning the house today.  They have been doing a decent job but it needs to be more thoroughly. I might take them to lunch if they get busy. We might get to the Mall also.  Tonight, not too much going on, might go to a concert in the park thing.

Saturday will be mowing probably for Tim.  I am hoping to get my cleaning done today and taking it easy this weekend. Tomorrow night we are going to an indoor football game that will be AAMU appreciation night. I got free tickets from work.

Sunday, so far nothing planned.  Something will come up I am sure.

After the home improvements and relatives in town, I am ready for a nice quiet weekend!!  Today will be pretty quiet, I have an appointment at lunch to take care of, and am deciding on if we will go to the pool tonight after work or not.  We had to pick up my truck from the repair shop last night and Emma was very upset that we didnt' get there.  She's having a tough time transitioning back to the daycare and the earlier waking hours.

Tomorrow, the girls have swim lessons bright and early!  Madison's is at 8:30, I will put Emma in the play place at the Y and I will hit the elliptical machine while Madison is in class, then I'll pick Madison up from her class and then take Emma to her lesson at 9:15.  I will have to decide if Madison goes into the play place or not.  I think I will want her to, as she's not good at sitting for Emma's 30 minute lesson.  Then we're going to head across town to the large farmers market.  I am hoping to go back to farm fresh eggs as opposed to store bought ones, and I need to make a menu plan today so I can get as much there as possible.  I will eventually get to the grocery store for the rest of my shopping.  We have been working on leftovers a lot of the week.  Jordyn has to work I think Saturday afternoon and I believe her and the BF are going out Saturday evening to celebrate their 6 month anniversary early.  Jordyn leaves on Sunday early for 10 days out of town doing 2 different cheer camps.  She'll be cleaning today and finishing up her laundry for the trip, as well as thank you notes for graduation gifts.

I do have some molding and stuff to take back to Home Depot this weekend as well as picking up 2 more pieces of T molding to finish up the floor, then I'll take a break for a few weeks before going onto the kitchen renovations.  I ened to clean out the garage first so I have room to spread out while refinishing the cabinets.  I am sure we will hit the pool at least one more time this weekend also and menu planning and preparing for next week.  Have a great weekend!!
