She's really not happy about the no car rule.

But shoot- she won't even drive the interstate by herself here.  In no way, shape or form am I letting her have a car to drive around an area that does have almost as much traffic as this area does (when Lynchburg, Liberty and Randolph College are in sesson there's a ton of college kids in the area.)

Not to mention that the van does have a limited lifespan.  Dh is hoping to get Becca through high school in it.  I know it needs shocks and struts.  The gas gauge no longer works.  And that would be something else I'd worry about.  Kristen NEVER knows how much gas is in that van- I'M the one who keeps track of it.  And I could see it now- the darn thing has no gas and she's in the middle of traffic on 29- with a ton of people behind her honking their horns.  And we aren't getting it fixed- not spending $500-600 more on a car with 125,000 miles on it.

She can get by.  Maybe even until she does student teaching.  Unless of course they let her do it here.  And she would LOVE to do it here- she'd love to work with the middle/high school orchestra teachers- she's got a relationship with both of them.  I don't think it would happen- I think the only school that has a relationship with our school system is James Madison.  The last 2 student teachers in the music dept that came through here were JMU students.

LOL Cheryl! I've been preparing jordyn for the no car on campus for a while. I don't know what the rule is at Oregon, a question to ask at the recruiting visit in October I suppose, but I have already told jordyn she doesn't need to take her car, maybe sophomore year after she's had a year under her belt. She'll have the car if she's with my brother in Michigan, but they have an excellent public transportation system downtown and on campus, so she really won't be doing a lot of driving there either, p,us, she needs to learn to drive in the snow still...

Go Kenzie!!! Good luck with the rest of the meet.

Good luck with the hockey position. While I understand it takes a lot to run a sport club/league of any kind, more and more I feel like they expect participants to sit and wait for them and do things on their schedule and ask how high when they say jump!
I submitted Megan's Zone application on Thursday morning and I still haven't heard anything. I have no idea when she needs to be ther for warm ups and haven't been able to give them her t-shirt/uniform information...

Well I worked my nite shift on Thursday and walked around like a Zombie at State meet yesterday (nothing like 3 hours of sleep in 36 hours). Kenzie made her 50 free cut and has two events plus relays today and tomorrow. I was looking at our electronic calendar this morning and discovered that Teagen has Selects practice tonight and I will have to miss the last event since it is dh's weekend to work. Tomorrow, I picked up a shift, and so the kids will be with my mom in the morning and then we head down for the last day of the meet. The hockey association emailed Thursday nite to see if I was still interested in a coordinator position and that they are interviewing for them on Sunday! Nothing like late notice. I called right away to set up a time and they called me on Friday morning while I was sleeping. Called them Friday nite to let them know what time I'm interested in and apologized for calling late...needless to say I'm probably not going to get one of the positions (which stinks since they will waive the $325 registration fee if you get one of them). They really need to give more notice...3 days before and it's summer. Oh well, guess I'll be picking up more shifts to cover the registration fee.

Cheryl you make me LOL!!! Kenzie pointed out a driving school right next to a Dairy Queen and saying, "I can take my drivers Ed there!" Not. Ready. For. That.

And to add to the grey hair I already have.

Becca can get her permit on Aug. 2.  In 4 days...................

Oh boy- I get to do laps around the school parking lot again.

Kristen said yesterday that she's still kind of miffed over the "no car on campus this year" rule.  Says it's not fair.  Says she doesn't want to take public transportation b/c there's "scary people" on there.  Sigh.

She'll either find someone with a car or figure out how to ride the "scary bus" by herself LOL.  Because if she thinks I'm driving 3.5 hours to go and buy her shampoo at Walmart she's crazy LOL.

I don't multi-task well. In our current home I can hardly keep up managing the house, the schedule, school, dog training, taking care of myself, and cooking, and being there as a wife to listen, let alone sex and that shouldn't be a chore! Add in a move and 4 weeks of travel (staggered) and an entirely new extra curric list, and I would be so tightly wound and stressed. The more I can get done now, the better. Also, DH has had some light work days or prijects he can work on in the evening and minimal travel so I'm utilizing him while I can. He's got two weeks of travel coming up right around the move, so anything we can do now is good.
