I have to admit that this is a problem I thought I would never have to deal with, but now that I am I am clueless.
Connor (13) is 5'5" tall, 125 lbs and no word of a lie, has a 28 inch waist (actually the one pair of 28's that I did find he needs a belt with. As a preteen he wore Huskys, now he's average height, with a good muscular build, with a very small waist.
My problem. I can't find jeans to fit him, never mind regular pants. He needs a 32 inch leg length, it all depends upon the cut and style of the jeans though as some boot cuts hang longer and he can get away with a 30 inch leg.
I know that they sell student size jeans, but they don't fit him properly in the seat or hip. Levi Brand just doesn't fit him right period.
The only pants I've been able to find to fit are from AE and Gap. But at $40 per pair or more I just can't afford them. He's also going into High School this year and prefers a boot cut style jean to anything else.
Anyone out there seen boot cut jeans in a size 28x30 or 28x32 at a reasonable price?
All help is appreciated.

Did you try JCPenney?
Good luck in your quest for jeans!

Actually I hadn't considered JC Penney. I shopped there all the time when he was in boys sizes but not since he moved up to mens sizes. I'll give them a shot today and see what they have. Thanks for the idea.

Have you checked out the outlet malls? Gap is usually represented and their prices are often much better than the regular stores.
I'd also try some department stores that have better pricing. JC Penny carries a lot of brands. Sears has that whole Lands End line which are actually good quality.

Unfortunatly we don't have outlet malls in our state. There are some in the bordering states but they are over an hour and half away. Not worth the savings if I have to pay it out in gas. (my van is horrible on gas).
I did check out Penney's. The only brand they had in his size was the Levis and not in store. I actually don't like Lands End clothing and would never buy it for my son. It's highly overpriced. (I did the ordering for Sears for years so I know what the mark up is on everything. Some brands aren't bad, others are outrageous, lands end is outrageous).

Old Navy doesn't make his size. They make a 28x30 but in that brand he needs the 28x32 and they don't make it. Stinks because I love Old Navy for everything else. He used to live in Old navy clothes.
Oh I measured his waist Friday before I went out to the stores. He measures a 26 1/2 in waist. He tried on some 28 inch we did find and they were also too big. Looks like he'll need a belt no matter what we do.

I don't know what kind of jeans your son likes, but CCS (online) allows you to choose length and waist size (and they do have a 28) and their "store" brand jeans are usually 29.99 when you buy at least 2 pair. My son really likes their cords. They also have a lot of the skater/word t-shirts that a lot of boys are wearing right now and they are only 15.00 each when you buy 3 or more (which is a lot less than the 25 per shirt they ask for at the store). I have always found them to be reliable with fast shipping and I once had a return and they were very prompt with replacement.
Hope this was helpful.
